After years of visits I couldn't understand why my teeth were such a problem. I consulted another dentist for a special procedure who thought my teeth hadn't been cleaned in 10 years. He sent me to another specialist who said I had gum disease for years. Neither dentist could believe that Lazarus had cleaned my teeth 3 weeks prior. Amazingly everytime I visited he had purchased a new device and would show it off. He has all of the new technology . He did a couple of procedures where the teeth literally fell out and the caps never stayed in place. The post often broke, one in his hand. Instead of doing the process over correctly; he slapped glue on it and stuck it in place. Needless to say, I lost the tooth all together

Stay far away. He rushes through treatment and do not do a good job. And for some reason his office does not feel clean.

Dr. Lazarus did my cleaning/ checkup with xrays. He explained what he was doing before he did which helped calm my nerves. Though his office is converted from being a home, which put me off initially, he still seemed very professional. I was relieved each time when he said I didn't have any cavities. I haven't had anything more complicated than a checkup, and cleaning done there. So it's tough to assess treatment success, or cost (my insurance covers my checkups 100%)

An out of home operation, I thought this would be a great place. However, when compared to Penn Dental School, this place is horribly in the stone age with regards to technology and skill. He barely cleaned my teeth, and when he did, he was so rough on me that I was bleeding everywhere. This has never happened anywhere before, and he tried to justify it that this is how dentistry is done. Extremely annoying mannerisms. Do NOT visit this dentist, you will hate it here.

Competent, resonable. Takes almost all insurance. Very easy to get appointment.

Dr. Lazarus's office is essentially a row home that has been converted. The facilities aren't the cleanest in the world, though his assistant is very nice. The billing procedure is fairly quick and easy if you, like I, had insurance. Dr. Lazarus himself is a very cheerful man and you won't have a problem with his chair-side manners. The main problem with the entire experience is that the entire cleaning process takes like than 4 minutes. For some people this may be a plus, but it left me wondering if he really did anything at all in my mouth. The scaling process was rather crude and quick and left my gums, normally quite healthy, rather bloody. Furthermore, he uses air polishing (as opposed to the rubber tip type that I am used to), but the most troubling part of the entire visit was that the air polishing literally lasted no longer than 10 seconds. The sheer quickness and crudeness of the cleaning leaves one questioning whether his judgment is sound in the most important part of the routine visit: looking at xrays and ensuring that there are no real problems. In short, new patients who go to Dr. Lazarus may soon find themselves questioning the quality of treatment they received and may want to find a second opinion.

i wasn't put off my the 'hominess' of the office, and the digital xrays were pretty cool. i don't feel like the cleaning i received was as thorough as it could have been, though.

I actually prefer the 'home-like' setting of Dr. Lazarus' office. He is a strange but nice guy, and made me feel at ease. I was disappointed, though, that after he filled a cavity and the filling chipped (within his one year guarantee) he seemed reluctant to correct the problem.

Dr. Lazarus is very skilled and always make the experience as least paimful as possible. His technology is cutting edge and the office has an inviting feel. J. Smith
