I was a patient with Dr. Acombs for 2 years and it was the worst experience that I've ever had with any dentist. There was new staff every time I went for my appointments. He left pieces of root in my jaw after pulling several teeth, now my new dentists has to do surgery to get the pieces out. The roots that were left is still causing pain after a year. He replaced an upper and lower partial with a substandard upper partial plate that has broken several times and that has cost me $600 in repairs. It's made of plastic and I paid for metal. The lower partial plate is metal and also had problems. I could write a book about other bad experiences I've had with him. I think it's time for him to retire and let a caring and more competent dentist take over.

There was already hesitation in keeping the scheduled appointment regarding the cause of (her name has been changed to protect her identity) “Anne’s” toothache as she previously had been hurt by him. When Dr. Acomb entered the room I introduced myself and my position. He was very defensive and dismissive. During the conversation, he said “I consider you to be a third party.” He then pointed to the dental assistant and remarked that she is a zero. I couldn’t see her reaction as most of her face was covered with her mask. I felt as though she had heard these words many times in the past Speaking of a prior visit, he said that she acts like a seven-year-old, I asked do you realize that “Anne” has a disability? He told me, “I work with many people with disabilities. “Disability? This is nothing!” He reiterated, “She acts like a seven-year-old.” It was then that I stated, “you are being very disrespectful and I will no longer listen to this” and walked back to the waiting room. He followed me and loudly exclaimed that he would contact “Anne’s” parents to let them know that I had walked out. This was executed in front of all waiting patients and staff members. Respectfully, Jo Ann

My family has teeth requiring lots of care and we wind up with dentures. He argues and says our teeth condition is from "neglect"! My mother spent a small fortune "neglecting" her teeth at dentists. WHAT A JERK!!!

I know this doctor: Went in for ONE visit, NEVER AGAIN!

I had heard that Dr Acomb had retired. I was quite pleased to find out that he hadn't. I referred a coupe of friends to him and they were seen on an emergency basis, entering in miserable pain and emerging pain free with smiles. I recently had two extractions from another dentist and it cost me over $600.00. I had two extractions prior to my four fillings and since I didn't have insurance and was having money issues, Dr. Acomb only charged me $140.00. The office staff couldn't be nicer and on the ball with reminders of appointments. Very helpful filling out paperwork and offering advice for alternative payment options. I know that whatever time my appointment is scheduled for, I won't be seen for at least twenty minutes later. I could not help but notice why. After every procedure with every patient, Dr. Acomb takes the time to chat with whomever is in his chair. Man, woman, child, doesn't matter, he'll discuss whatever topic the conversation lends itself to. He is a no nonsense old school dentist that knows his business and that confidence breeds an assertive nature to solve whatever problem you happen to have. The most pain that I had encountered during my visit was receiving the Novocaine shots..... Thumbs up!!!!

He was both rude and completely uninterested in the fact that he was hurting me while completing the (small) procedure. My sense was that he quickly identified me as a recipient of public health insurance and then felt at liberty to be rude. His staff were friendly and professional; only Doctor Acomb himself left a great deal to be desired, both in manner and in efficacy.

Over the years my 4 children, my husband and I have had several procedures from Dr Acomb. He is a very good dentist. His work is very professional and he is very good at what he does. He works well with children and adults. I would recommend his to any age.
