Dr. Hood is my regular dentist for routine cleanings. He performs the cleanings himself! (At least, every time I've been there -- I don't know if this is generally the case for all his patients.) I am also undergoing orthodontic treatment, and he took an active interest in that too, even recommending things I should check up on and ask my orthodontist about.
Dr. Hood is as punctual as I am, and it is frequently the case that I get my cleaning finished earlier than scheduled.
I don't mind that he isn't very chatty -- he gets straight to business and does a good job of it.
His office (as of Jan 2009) has a room which overlooks the Marina del Rey boat docks. It's very picturesque.
Costs are reasonable, and aren't too different from other dentists I've had in the past. My PPO insurance covers all of everything though.
Front desk people are attentive and friendly.

Dr. Hood is a nice guy and his fees are low. He is very helpful in scheduling appointments to fit the patient's schedule. Although I have not been seen by another dentist, I'm not confident that he is thorough.
