Worst TMJ specialist ever! All he wants to do it make money and NOT help his patients. Does not listen to patients and did not help me with the 3 years of seeing him. I would never return to see him, very unprofessional staff and he has no care to help his patients at all!

dr. Crandall was unwilling to answer my medical questions so I stopped seeing him before he made the mouth guard. he was unpleasant, unprofessional, lacked expert knowledge and was rigid.

He refuses to communicate on the phone. We live 2.5 hours away from his office. Driving in VT winters long distance is not easy to do. He changed his thought of the prognosis a few times and never committed to a plan B treatment knowing very well that his initial plan was unsuccessful after over a year. His appliance kept breaking and did not provide the relief promised. There was no clear direction or end in sight for his treatment. Eventually we elected a surgery with another doctor.

I would not recommend Dr. Crandall to others. He treated both me and my wife for TMJ issues. He lacks an investigative mind when it comes to discovering the root issues behind TMJ complications and fixing them. In addition, he only showed me an angle shot of my right jaw joint via x-ray instead of the entire jaw joints (which I later found out that he chose to not show me the entire x-ray picture of both of my jaw joints until I requested my records years later). He did not tell me it was an angle shot at the time and used the angle shot x-ray picture to tell me my jaw joints were very thin and that the discs were dislocated. I've had two other doctors x-ray my jaw joints since then, and they both said that they are not thin and that the discs aren't dislocated. Dr. Crandall had me go through an unncessary splint therapy treatment which only ended up worsening my jaw pain and overall bite. I have found out since going through treatment with Dr. Crandall that my TMJ issues would of cleared up with just some physical therapy treatment. However, due to the complications that came along with the splint therapy treatment Dr. Crandall put me through I will now have chronic TMJ pain the rest of my life.

My daughter has TMJ and we were referred to Dr Crandall's office. He has been wonderful. Dr Crandall has explained every step in terms that my 14 year daughter could understand. Though the wait time to get in was long it was worth it. With talking with his staff (who have all gone above and beyond to help my daughter) I understand why it takes so much time.. as there are a lot of TMJ patients out there and only a couple of specialist in our state. I would highly recommend Dr Crandall and his staff any day.

About Front Desk: Awesome. With my multiple calls for needing help and even support to be able to help my daughter they have always gone above my expectations.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend Dr. Crandall for anyone. At first it all appears nice. I went to him for more than 10 years. On occasion I saw glimpses of a rough side of him. However, I had missed some appointments and was late to the one I had today. I apologized, circumstances were beyond my control. I live more that 45 miles from his office. The assistant told me I had poor planning and kept talking negatively about me in front of my 6 yr. old Autistic son. She did her work while I had tears running out of my eyes due to my anger that I had to supress. When Dr. Crandall came in I simply wanted to ask him to not have staff talk about these subjects with my son present. I did not get a chance to finish my sentence because he cut me off. He told me he was offended by me missing appointments. I mentioned that one was because of my car out of order. He looked at me and said, "I'm not going there. I'm through with you, get out of here as he slammed my file against his leg as he was closing it and stormed out of the room. All of this in front of my Son. He over prescribes pain medicines and abandons patients that he has hooked on them. If you want pain control without drug addiction, don't go there.

About Front Desk: Everyone has been nice except for his daughter. I can see where she got her attitude from. They say that his office is the only place where I can get treatment for my TMJ. That would be true if I wanted an office that only offered me drugs. I see plenty more and I'm as done with him as he is with me. This is not the first time he was rude and exhibited very poor bedside manners. He does not genuinely care for his patients and his staff overturn, with the exception of his family members, is unreal. Stay away, stay VERY far away.
