After my trusted dentist of 25 years retired I tried several local practices only to have excessive procedures and charges when that was not the case previously. A friend suggested I try Dr. V largely based on his integrity. Where my "other" dental chain operation had suggested I needed a number of expensive procedures, Dr V did an exam, X-ray and routine cleaning, followed by one small filling replacement. He's the best! My wife now goes to him and we have recommended him to a number of friends, several who have had the same experience we did. His staff is cheerful and fun, and the environment is very pleasant. I'm soooo happy we found him.
I would tell anyone who's having questions about their current dentist's suggestion that they need a lot of work done to definitely go see Dr. V at least for a second opinion first.
About Hygienist: Outstanding. The whole staff is excellent. They're really fun and you can tell they like working together.

Dr. V is the dentist for me and my husband and three of our children. Dr. Van Der Sluys has provided regular six-month cleanings and check-ups, one molar crown, a filling, and a repair to a front tooth that was chipped. In every appointment and procedure we have been completely impressed! Dr. V is extremely gentle and has a calm and pleasant manner. I have had painful dental experiences in the past, but never with Dr. V. He did a crown on one of my molars and it was almost completely pain-free. The crown itself fits perfectly in my mouth and is very comfortable. My son (who chipped his front tooth) was extremely upset when we arrived at the dentist's office. His mouth was swollen and bleeding. Dr. V reassured him and made him feel comfortable and calm. Even our youngest child, who began seeing Dr. V when she was three, likes going. At her first appointment Dr. V was very calm and just made it a pleasant experience for her. The two hygenists we have seen are both terrific! The receptionist is friendly and easy to talk to. All around an OUTSTANDING office. We were nervous about seeing a new dentist when our insurance changed two years ago, but we have been completely impressed with Dr. V and are glad we switched!
About Hygienist: Both of the hygenists we have seen are outstanding. The cleaning is thorough and gentle. They are both obviously sensitive to patients and take great care to make them comfortable.

I was a patient of Dr V back when he was working for a larger dental firm (Gentle Dental). After he left I stayed with Gentle Dental but got tired of the revolving doors (a different dentist every checkup). I finally stumbled onto where Dr.V set up his new office and it turned out to be very close to my home. The office is hi tech and comfortable. His assistants are great and Dr V is a wonderful dentist (in my opinion). The first thing I had him do was to crown a Bicuspid that I broke. The crown look just like my other teeth. The sad part is that just behind that crown is one that was done at gentle dental and the tooth looks very unnatural (NOT Gentle dental's fault but the lab that made the tooth BUT I know that Dr V would have sent it back to the lab to make it right).
I am not the type of person to write reviews, and I am a dentalphobic who starts shaking when I think about going to the dentist. I am glad I found Dr V and hope others will be also.

Excellent team. Great location in new Redmond Ridge. Was able to get me in and out relatively quickly.
