I have been terrified of the dentist since childhood. From the first visit to Dr. Amato I was put at ease! He is gentle, compassionate, and a great listener. He answers my questions and seems like he really enjoys his job since he keeps me informed during each visit and does not seem rushed. After Dr. Amato placed 4 sealents in my daughters mouth, I realized that he is the first dentist that truly cares about preventing treatment and maintaining health. After two years of seeing him I was diagnosed with a cavity, which made me really nervous. I am pleased to say that the experience was so pleasant that my childhood fears have faded dramatically. I did not feel the shot and the procedure was quick and comfortable. I feel lucky to have found Dr. Amato and my family and I plan to remain in his office. Also, I have found that the hygienists' at this office are gentle, kind, and give me a great cleaning. I wish my insurance would pay for more than 2x a year! Overall, a great dentist. P.S. This is a great site! I hope more people will become aware of it. I had to go through several money-hungry, rude, and rough dentists to find one worthy of treating my family

I moved and had to switch dentist. My old dentist never saw cavities or related issues but as soon as I saw my new dentist he told me two of my teeth had cavities and I needed filling (I used to get my teeth cleaned 3x a year so in 4 months I developed cavities???) I asked about the reason and was told "well, you have cavities". Hating the idea that my teeth may be decaying, I decided I would get fillings. The doctor seemed to be interested in getting me out of the office ASAP and didn't explain much of anything about the procedure. The top tooth took forever and it was sore for 3 weeks and I couldn't bite harder food (like an apple) with the teeth. There was no followup on how the procedure went and I am never going back to that office.

i had to have my crowns redone 2 times... it then ended up needing a root canal that i was not expecting and not informed of. I feel it is risky seeing a new dentist that is not great at his skills.
