Dr. Starks has a very poor chairside manner. He rushes procedures including major procedures and also talks down in a condescending way to his assistants while working on your teeth.
My husband had a surgical procedure done where tissue grafts were transplanted in his mouth. He administered the anesthetic very roughly and didn't even wait for it to kick in before he began the surgery. Then he was rushing so, most likely because this was the last appointment of the evening and hurt my husband's mouth to the extent that he yelled. Dr. Starks then said outloud that he was rushing and needed to slow down. If this isn't a clear indication of this doctor's NEGLIGENCE and lack of care, then I don't know what is.
We've been patients for 3 years now and we were displeased from the first appointment. We've just been patient and stuck with him hoping that it would get better and it's just got worse. We've since switched and are now seeing another dentist in the Medical Dental Building. Another thing to mention, if you ever need to rescheudle an appointment, you're looking at a minimum of 3 months down the road. They are too understaffed to accomodate.
About Hygienist: Selena - I have seen her about 5 times for regular cleanings and she has a bit of an attitude and not thorough in her work. If you're booked to see her, I'd highly recommend rescheduling for another hygienist but that may not be for 3+ months! Tracy - Very gentle yet thorough. She seems to be the only person worth seeing on this entire staff.

Dr. Starks is a great dentist. He is very curteous and responsive to his patients needs and makes you feel comfortable during your appointment.

Doesn't get any better than Dr. Starks! I went to him for the 12 years I lived in Seattle and go back periodically. I am a friend but I can honestly say that I have not found a better dentist in the states I have lived since: West Virginia, Louisiana, and Georgia (Atlanta).

Dr. Starks has always been professional yet gregarious in his dealings. He is very competant, relatively pain free, and I have appreciated the results. I also appreciate the way he keeps on top of the latest technology in dentistry, leaving me with the best care available in the industry.

Finally found a dentist that was taking new patients - Very professional in their organization and paperwork - very friendly receptionists!

Dr. Starks is warm and caring; the staff at his office are also warm and friendly.
A coworker recommended him to me 20 years ago and I have passed along the recommendation.

I started seeing Dr. Starks 10 years ago after years of bad dental experiences. I was shell-shocked and distrustful of dentists when I came to him. I have never had such gentle, professional, thorough care taken of me in the dental chair. All of the hygienists are super sweet, knowledgeable and also very thorough and gentle - they deserve some props!
Let me put it this way, I have been living in NYC for the past 6 years AND I STILL ONLY SEE DR. STARKS - that is how good he is.

After moving to Seattle, Dr. Starks was recommended to me and I could not have been happier with his service. Having had prior peridontal gum problems and bad experiences with other dentists I am very cautious about selecting a dentist. Dr. Starks has a very pleasing disposition that puts you at ease, he clearly describes the treatment options and helps you to select the procedure that is best for you. He works with your insurance plan and budget to obtain coverage for the care you need. His office staff (front desk, hygienist) are very courteous and professional. His appointments are scheduled such that I have spent no more than 5-10 minutes in the waiting room. I wish I could have included him in my relocation package when I moved out of state. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a great dentist.

I have begun seeing Dr. Stark this year and have had two appointments so far. I've been so pleased and am glad I was referred to him. He gives you individual attention and explains what he is doing. His dental hygienists are excellent, thorough and fast. The front office staff have been very proactive in dealing with my insurance company and keeping me informed of billing status. He is very easy to reach by bus, too, which is a big plus for me.
