Came in for a annual check up. Dr. Rau took time and care in reviewing my mouth and informing me of things that I needed done and things that were optional. Great chairside manner. Very smart and explained way some treatment was needed and why some could wait.

About Front Desk: The receptionist was great as well. She told me exactly what my insurance would cover and what my portion would be. Also calls me to remind me of my next appointment.

About Hygienist: The hygienist was outstanding. Did a great job on the xrays and the cleaning left my mouth feeling like new.

He is really good at what he does. But he is a COSMETIC dentist. Be sure to keep this in mind if you are considering him as a dentist. Pros: Great overall staff, friendly, efficient, and zero stress. Cons: You will get the car salesman deal from Dr. Rau. All of your cavities will need new fillings, your teeth will need to be whitened, your teeth will not line up right, you will need braces, you will need your teeth whitened AGAIN! (I think you get the point). It really is a shame that Dr. Rau is the turd in the punch bowl. I have nothing bad to say about the rest of the staff. The overall experience is great, but I have never in 34 years had a dentist find so many flaws with my teeth. I was thinking maybe I was being dramatic, but someone I work with went to him as well and she was told her teeth needed to be whitened and she has perfect teeth, never even had a cavity. He also said she may need braces, but she has already had braces! I know people may need braces again, but she has not needed braces in over 20 years. Seems fishy to me. My main reason for going to this dentist is that his practice is in the same building that I work at and it is convenient for me.

About Front Desk: Awesome. Like I said, the staff are all friendly and professional.It doesn't have the feeling that you are going to the dentist. Unfortunately, Dr. Rau has dollar signs in his eyes and when he is done, it feels like he might as well say "bend over."

About Hygienist: He is professional and nice enough, but I believe that he is a slightly awkward conversationalist. Not a big rip on him, or a reason for me to say I wouldn't go. Just enough for me to think to myself, I would rather he not talk at all.
