As a little girl in Tucson I had several surgeries performed by Dr. TOONE. I remember him screaming at me. I remember waiting for one of my surgical appointments and being able to see into another room where he was operating on an older boy. I could hear Dr. Toone screaming at his nurse. The door to the room was gradually opening wider. One of the boy's legs was hanging off of the chair. Dr. Toone kicked at the boy's ankle repeatedly in an effort to get the boy's leg back on the chair. While doing this the doctor was screaming and growling. Then he saw me. He kicked a trash can against the wall. An assisstant or nurse then shut the door. This was in the mid 1980's. My memories of this man were similar to many other Tucsonan's that I spoke with when I got older I am shocked to hear he is still practising.

My Experience: Oral Surgery

I know this doctor: 1-2 years

I saw Dr. Toone last year for a wisdom tooth extraction consult. All I can say is that I left his office in tears because of the unbelievably horrible way he treated me. And I am NOT a crier. I have trouble understanding how this guy has ANY patients! He is the most horrible professional I have ever encountered. He blew off my concerns; he told me that it WOULD hurt and I could either deal w/ it or not. That is almost verbatim, by the way. He rolled his eyes at my anxiety and told me after talking w/ me, that he didn't have time for this and to call him when I got over my ridiculousness. Here is my history. I have 10 children. Yes, 10. Three of them I had at home and NONE of them were under 10 pounds. So my anxiety of the pain involved in the procedure at my age was valid and not ridiculous or unwarranted. He is an uncaring man who should be relieved of his position. My father is in the medical community in SC and retired from it after 33 years in private practice and when I told him of the way I was treated, he was appalled and insisted I contact authorities that would deal with this man. My dad is not a hysterical man just as I am not a hysterical woman. I ended up seeing Dr. Quintia and LOVED him!!!

Undoubtedly the worst oral surgeon I've ever been to! The facility lloks like 3rd world. When I was in pain he asked me "what do you want me to do about it"? I had to tell HIM to use more anesthetic and wait 2 minutes for it to kick in!

He extracted a tooth for me and I will never go back to him. He hurt me much more than I think was necessary. When I told him he was hurting me he became frustrated and hurt me more. When I asked for gas he told me he couldn't use it in his office because it made "the girls that work there go silly" He was disrespectful to me as a woman and he smells.

Dr Toone was horrible. He did my wisdom teeth and my lip is still numb after 2 months!!!!! His staff couldn't find my vein in the usual spot and the new spot they picked hurt more than I've ever felt. Dr. Toone also told me to bascially quit whining when I told him that I could still feel the pain. I have an issue with my jaw and I told him how to avoid hurting me and he completely ignored me and just ripped it open and there was a loud "pop" and I still can't open my mouth all the way.
