The doctor padded his estimate by coding for impacted wisdom teeth when the teeth were not impacted. Got another estimate from a different provider. When I called and confronted Hanel’s office staff, she asked how I found out. I told her that I had the billing codes and that they were not consistent with the procedure codes from the other provider, except for the code for anesthesia. I told the referring dentist that Dr. Hanel and his staff are extremely dishonest and to never refer to him again. This was oral surgery in preparation for radiation treatments for cancer. There’s a special place in hell for doctors who prey on patients who are already struggling with a dire medical condition just to make more money.

Dr. Hanel and his team do a terrific job with children. We have had to have 2 oral surgeries in 2 years for my daughter who is 9 years old.

Dr. Hanel maybe a good doctor but his staff''s customer service was poor, didn't even bothered to return calls or provide update on submitting necessary documentation for insurance purposes.
