My friend recommended me Dr. Amano for a check up this summer. He is very nice, gentle, and honest, but I felt he was a bit expensive.... His clinic doesn't have good equipments either. The X-ray machine is ancient and taking X-ray pictures was very uncomfortable. Receptionist was very friendly and good, but my dental assistant was not careful and kind of rude...

I found Dr. Amano through a co-worker. I went for an inital check and learned that I had a cavity, and a tooth that needs a crown. I was extremely nervous about getting the work done, as Dr. Amano does not use nitrous oxide in his office, but he came so highly recommended and I was assured that his pricing is very fair within our insurance group. Well I had the cavity filled yesterday and I didn't feel a thing. He used novacaine only, and I didn't even really feel that. The whole filling took about 8 minutes, I think I only listened to three songs on my iPod, and he was done! His hygenists are kind and calming, as is his manner, and his front desk people are above and beyond. I'm going back for a cleaning and bleaching next. I think he will be "my dentist" as long as I live in the LA area. I would definitely recommend him, especially to scaredy-cats!
