In March and April of 2016 Dr. Barsamian extracted both of my lower wisdom teeth each one month apart using just local anesthesia which I requested. He did a wonderful job, and it was over before I knew it! I really liked his staff, too. If I ever need another extraction, I will definitely return to Dr. Barsamian.

About Front Desk: Pam is so great! So friendly and helpful. All costs were made clear before the procedures.

My Experience: Extraction

Duration: Half hour each

Dr. Barsamian had to do two dental implants which consisted of two extractions. He came in and proceeded to put me to sleep by putting an IV in. Much to my surprise, the IV was put in by him, and it was not an IV! I am a registered nurse, and all he put in was a butterfly needle. I questioned him, and before I knew it he put me asleep. All other oral surgeries I've had in other cities and also my two children, they have inserted IVs, typically the staff not the surgeon. Butterfly needles are to draw blood with not to drip fluids! Needless to say, I woke up halfway through my procedure! He claimed my IV infiltrated, but I knew that was not the case because my arm is not swollen!! The butterfly clotted because it's used for labs and labs only! So I had to lay there and pain and agony for another half an hour and he still had to extract another tooth while I was completely awake! His staff is completely unable to start and IV nor is he! Beware do not go to this office and less you want to be awake for a procedure!!! He should be putting in IVs and not a butterfly needles. I'm sure he has no idea how to even start one nor does he want to hire somebody to do so. Maybe it's time to retire.

About Front Desk: Excellent office it's a shame we can't get some help and get a real IV started and have some real IV sedation

Dr. Barsamian was so rude, rough and rushed. He has zero bed side manners and destroyed my gums. He had no sympathy for the pain he was causing and just got rougher. He needs to retire he does not care about his patients.

About Front Desk: Never very friendly.

My wife had her wisdom teeth extracted this past week. The nursing staff was extremely curteous and took their time with us. However, Dr. Barsamian is a bull in a china shop. His bed-side manner lacks, to say the least. During the procedure prep, he was rude with his nurses, rough handled my wife's IV insertion in her hand and messed it up (she bruised for 5 days), and when she complained about the pain he belittled her complaints and insisted to just switch to the other hand. I had to step in to make him perform the insertion in her arm since it was clear his impatience was not sufficient to handle a delicate insertion into her petite hand. I wish I could say his skill made up for this lack of manner, but I can't even say that. My wife is still in pain from the procedure a week later, even after we followed the post-op instructions to the letter. And to add insult to injury, during our follow-up we explained this pain to him hoping to aleviate worries of infection or perhaps even a nerve that got cut, but all he did was rudely state that we weren't getting anymore narcotics so we can forget it. Like we're drug addicts or something. Way to treat your patients Doc. I wish we would've went with ANYBODY else.

Check your insurance: Make sure the doctor you use is in network! We did not realize this dr. was out of network until after the procedure (through a series of misunderstandings). This difference cost us over $900 out of pocket. His prices are very high and they did not honor the negotiated fees of insurance.

Read that he and office staff did not know CPR. Did not monitor a seventeen year old patient's breathing and pulse. She came in for wisdom teeth removal. 911 was called and pt. died.

We have taken all three of our kids to Dr. Barsamian and have had other family members use him. I would say he is the best dentist /oral surgeon I have ever met. He makes you just feel so comfortable and at ease. If only all dentists could be like him. Our family is very impressed! Jeff
