Bad news. Poor work, poor cleaning. All her work has to be redone. Some of the crowns were unnecessary. Instead of filling a cavity, she always said I needed a crown, even with no root canal or significant destruction of the tooth. Her work was so shoddy that I had decay underneath the crowns which she apparently had ignored on X-rays, until I eventually lost one of the teeth. By the time I saw a dental specialist to repair the damage, he had to refer me to extract this tooth.

About Front Desk: So so, when I continued to be foolish and trusting enough to see her. The staff person I spoke with to cancel my appointment hung up abruptly when she found out I had decided to see a new dentist.

About Hygienist: Poor work, obviously. By the time I saw my new dentist, his good hygienist had to do scaling of big build ups of plaque and tartar, as if I had not seen a dentist in years. By the way, I brush two times daily, floss daily or 2x daily, and rarely indulge in any sweets.

I was referred by my prosthodontist to get a molar removed by Dr. Abrams. I was told that he was a great oral surgeon. I got an appointment quickly enough, but it only took Abrams maybe less than ten minutes to work on me. While he was extracting the molar, he also broke off the temporary crown on the molar next to it. Instead of contacting my prosthodontist, whose office is close by, Abrams simply put some cement on the crown and pushed it back on my tooth. Then he sent me on my way, saying nothing. Later, when the numbing wore off, I realized that the crown was hurting more than the extraction site, and was not placed properly. By that time I was at work, over an hour away . As a result, I will have to drive back to see my prosthodontist early tomorrow morning. He wants to see me ASAP, to fix the crown. I will miss more work, and have to drive a total of two hours. This would have been avoided if Abrams was more thoughtful about the situation. 1 visit was enough to make me ponder about the benefits of ever returning to this doctor if I needed more oral surgery (hopefully I never will).

About Front Desk: So so. To me they had a money orientation that was a bit unprofessional. I am aware that they should be paid for their services, but their presentation of this fact was somewhat "pedestrian". They made sure that I paid the correct copay prior to seeing the doctor, which is fine, but it made me think he had a history of patients leaving without paying. When I made the appointment, the woman did not recognize my dental insurance name. Therefore, she quoted me the exact price of the procedure, that I must be able to pay it all when I come in, and that "we don't take checks." Yep, he must have had some bad experiences in the past.

He was very nice to me when I got my oral surgery. He was very calming and told me I was going to be ok. I got my first ever surgery with him and It scared me half to death but I was all better and now my tooth is getting better.

Dr. Abrams was very unhelpful and inattentive. He cut out all four of my wisdom teeth in the same day and told me that the recovery would only take two days. After he perscribed me medication i was allergic to, the emergencey room doctor put on me different medication that made me very ill. Because of this, i threw up often, drastically delaying my healing. When I saw him to have my stitches removed, he claimed that I was not healing because I had neglected to keep my wounds clean by brushing them 3 times a day, when in fact I had been brushing them twice that much. He said I had an additional intestinal problem that was not related to my surgery and that I needed to go see a medical doctor for that. He also refused to help me find the right pain medication (one that wouldn't keep me vomitting several times a day) because he claimed that all the medication he perscribed me, I was allergic to. Everything he said was either untrue or made no sense.

Dr. Abrams removed 2 of my wisdom teeth 9 days ago. One has been fine, but I have developed dry socket in the other. It has been and continues to be extraordinarily painful. I am giving such a low rating because of the office staff at the New Ballas location. They forgot to enter my follow-up appointment in the computer, accused me of failing to schedule the appointment, then were defensive and downright RUDE when I showed them the actual appointment card. They REFUSED to apologize for their mistake, then demanded that I come back at a different time, because Dr. Abrams wasn't even in the office--I lost an hour of work time and was made to feel as if I was the problem. I left the office in tears. I have scheduled an appointment at Dr. Abrams' NW Plaza location to have my stitches removed, and I will NEVER return to the New Ballas location.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled by Dr.Abrams, the procedure was very quick (less than an hour) and I had little recovery pain, very little swelling, and the pain pills took care of that. He explained everything clearly and gave me great advice for after care. I would highly recommend Dr.Abrams!
