My wife needed her wisdom tooth taken out so our dentist referred us to several oral surgeons. My wife knew that it would be painful so she wanted to be put to sleep and Dr. Gelfman and the dental assistant were aware of that fact. Before he started he asked me to leave the room which I regret very much. I waited in the waiting room for about 10 mins when the dental assistant came and got me and took me to my crying wife who was clearly in a lot of pain. The doctor informed me that the reason why she was in pain was because she was sensitive to pain so he gave her something to numb. My wife cried all the way home and into the night because as she told me she felt everything that he did. When I called to inquire as to why they did not wait for her to be fully asleep he stated that it was because of her "low blood pressure" and that he did not want her to be under for too long. That just sounds like an excuse to me. Now what type of person tries to pull someone's tooth out without giving them something or not waiting for them to fall asleep? Seeing my wife crying all he could tell her was to stop crying because she has "low blood pressure". I would love to put Dr. Gelfman in a chair and do to him what he did to my wife.

i was sent to dr. william gelfman's office in the late 1980s for an emergency by my regular dentist (dr. leslie meyerberg) and i was TERRIFIED 'cause of horrific experiences i'd had in the past. well, let me tell you, dr. gelfman was quite professional and made me feel at ease IMMEDIATELY! he'd never met me before but he is such a 'mensch' (a 'yiddish-ism' - a person who goes out of their way to do good & to help) turns out, i had to have an abscess removed, after that, he told me that in order to save my tooth, he'd have to do a bone graph. i asked how much, he said '1000.00,' i started to cry. i was on public assistance at that time and i HAD no money. so, he said, after this being ONLY OUR FIRST MEETING, 'don't worry, we'll just absorb the cost. the important thing is to save that tooth!" well, don't you KNOW i CRIED EVEN MORE because of him being such a mensch! i LOVE that man! he has since saved MANY of my teeth, but of course since that 1st visit, i HAVE been able to pay what our insurance doesn't cover. i trust NO OTHER oral surgeon with MY teeth! 'nuff said...

Insensitive, rude, and unfeeling. Definitely knows how to make a patient feel uneasy, quickly rushes everything and If I had to do it all over, I would never have stepped foot into that office. From this point on, I never will. Cold and UNCARING.

He is professional, up front (including cost)....the surgery w/anesthesia went off without any complications. He even changed my surgery date and said come back when your own dentist is available for you the same day or the next...and I'll take you right away (all this happened)...if I need oral surgery, I will definitely go back to him. It's not a fancy office but the staff treated me very well. They keep good records....they answer your questions and they answer the telephones..so even if it seems like a small clinic, it's a good place and their prices are much less then your private oral surgeons office.

I was a patient of Dr. Johnson in Dr. Gelman's office and the care was porfessional and honest. Their costs are reasonable in the assembly line operation. The environment is tight and noisy this leads to a added stress level. They offer anesthesia which is good ata price of $250.00 per procedure. I have used this faciltiy 7 times for extractions, this and implants are their specialty.
