It annoys me when I see negative things posted about excellent drs. I know some very very bad drs who are so bad that my health has fallen apart around me Dr Colwell pulled all my teeth in 2007 he did an excellent job making sure I was cared for and had follow up. His staff was supporative I mean these people give a darn not like most drs who only see the dollar sign I lived in Juneau for two years following my father's death my mouth started hurting according to all the drs up there is was nothing I was in so much pain I couldnt think I came down Dr Colwell did oral surgery on me and to be quite honest it was not that expensive and my mouth is back to normal. I find Dr Colwell to be kind and compassionate he is an old fashioned dr with old fashioned morals and integrity he cares about people and he cares about our country. I am not going into what I was charged as it is irrelevant my mouth is fixed the pain is gone at best it was mere 300 dollars. I was blessed to have Dr Colwell be the dr who pulled my teeth and to have his front office staff and his back office staff be as caring as Dr. Colwell I rate him at 150 on a scale of 1 to 10

Had a complicated extraction. Dr. Colwell ignored me when I said I was not numb and the nitrous was not working, yelled at me when I reacted to the pain, and ignored the fact that my blood pressure was raising to a scary degree. The pain was unbearable, and they still attempted to charge me for the anesthetic and nitrous that didn't work. He insisted that I simply wasn't trying to not be in pain, and didn't even attempt to apply more anesthetic to numb the area before working on the complicated extraction. This was by far the most horrific dental experience of my life. I cannot believe that this man is even allowed to practice oral surgery. For what it's worth, his front desk staff and dental assistants were very kind and helpful. The doctor, however, was brusque and cruel, and also made inappropriate personal remarks, at one point asking me "if you can't handle this, how are you going to have children?". I'm also looking into what medical boards I can report him to.

Dr. Colwell was very professional and it was obvious he had a lot of experience. It is apparent the office staff work well together and it was a comfortable atmosphere. There was no pressure to go forward with an implant although the information was presented in a professional manner. Told me to live with the loss of the tooth and then decide.

Excellent on every level. Plus knows everything about sports which even takes away the limited pain of being put under!

Dr. Colwell has pulled two wisdom teeth for me. First one a couple years back, too about two minutes or so. Second one, this month, four tops. Friendly, professional and knows his stuff, could you really ask for more?

My 9 year old son was in severe pain and in need of 2 tooth extractions. Dr. Colwell fit us in to his full schedule within 2 hours. My son was extremely scared; however, the staff and Dr. Colwell took the time to assure him it would not hurt and made him feel comfortable. He was patient and pleasant, and if you were to ask my son about the experience now, he would tell you "it was no big deal." I would highly recommend him.
