Dr. Gottesman and his entire staff are stellar! I have had two implants by Dr. Gottesman; both went smoothly. When I called with a question or concern, Dr. Gottesman or one of his staff called me back immediately. The most recent implant was done during COVID and the office protocols were exceptional. About Hygienist: I was most recently there during COVID and the entire office was exceptionally clean. They were limiting the number of people in the waiting room. All staff was masked and there was hand sanitizer everywhere.
Dr. Gottesman was wonderful. Even though I received my periodontal work through a donated dental program, Dr. Gottesman and his staff treated me will great compassion. I am elderly with health issues and the skilled care meant a lot to me. Margaret O'Reilly-Korte.

Dr. Gottesman and staff,
Where to even begin?! In the past 2.5 years I have had to have a lot of orthodontic work done, including wearing braces again. Along with the prior, I also had to have reconstructive jaw surgery all to fix a jaw malformation called class three. It was quite the experience. As I was nearing the end of my journey the final step was to have gum surgery. I wanted to go to the best, as I have at this point already invested a huge amount of time and money on the entire situation. Both my surgeon and orthodontist recommended Dr. Gottesman to me. I knew he would be the best, and I wasn’t disappointed. From the beginning his staff was kind and courteous. His patience and caring nature was evident as he took the time to explain everything to me thoroughly, and always made sure I was comfortable. Both he and his staff were always there to answer any questions that I had, even if they were questions they were never asked before. Since my very first time stepping into Dr. Gottesman’s office he always went above and beyond expectations. I am not from Manhattan and travel into the city for my appointments, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I actually looked and still do look forward to my appointments
I normally don't leave reviews however I was so happy with Dr. Gottesmans work and my results that I decided to share my experience.I came to see Dr.G for bilateral alloderm graft a months ago.I had some anxiety and reservations about the procedure but once I initiated the process and came in for my initial consultation with Dr.Gottesman he made me feel so at ease that I scheduled the surgery right away.Dr. Gottesman is extremely knowledgable and was very attentive, with amazing bed side manners, comforting and thorough at explaining every step of the process.During his detailed consultation he was able to cover all the questions and concerns that I had with regards to the procedure.There was absolutely no discomfort during nor after the treatment, however he still prescribes you pain killers just in case.The only discomfort was avoiding certain foods for few weeks and a bit of swelling for few days post treatment.His office staff is very nice and helpful.Following the surgical procedure and prior to my first scheduled follow up I received several routine calls from his staff to check on how I was feeling.My gums are completely healed right now and I couldn't be happier with results!I highly recommend Dr. G for any perio work!
I am so pleased and thankful to have been under the care of Dr. Gottesman! I had five teeth extracted, four of them being wisdom teeth, in one visit! Mind you two of my wisdom teeth were impacted and required oral surgery. Needless to say i was a bit nervous...
From the the moment you walk in you are greeted with a genuine warm smile by Nilda which makes you feel truly at home. Within minutes of walking in they were ready for me. I was expecting a bit of a wait and was pleasantly surprised. Tara explained the procedure and made me feel completely at ease. Dr. Gottesman and both of his assistants work really well together and before I knew it, the procedure was done. It was a hassle free and painless experience.
During the recovery period i was expecting to be in pain but I felt absolutely nothing. Everyone was shocked at my quick recovery after such a major surgery! I can't express how thankful I am to have found Dr. Gottesman. I will continue to use them for all my dental needs. The whole team at Perio NYC deserves more than 4 Stars! I highly recommend them!
About Front Desk: The front desk staff is amazing, they made me feel completely at ease. They were very knowledgeable about the procedures and even helped with my insurance coverage. Nilda called me the very next day to make sure i was feeling well which was appreciated greatly .Overall a great experience!

I had three implants put in the same day, I wanted it done all at once and put it behind me. I was apprehensive about being able to go thru this procedure for all three implants at once. After consulting with Dr. Gottesman, I was fine with it and decided to proceed. With any surgery, there are so many things to consider and my fear is how do I really know if this Doctor is capable of the procedure. Yes people say he is an amazing perio doctor but I like to form my own opinion. I can say every step of the way: from my initial consultation, to the scan of my jaw for mapping the size and placement of the implants, to the actual surgery, Dr. Gottesman went over every detail with me. The day of the implant surgery, I appreciate the way he took charge of the procedure and all his assistants were all synchronized and know their role. I had no issues with the recovery after the implants and he called me to follow up to see how I was feeling and also updated my general dentist. Really pleased, he is really worth it.
About Front Desk: Byproduct of a great doctor is the efficiency of his front Desk staff. From scheduling, to having my script phoned in, to reminders of the appointment; they are all so kind and on target.

I had my extraction and implant done by Dr. Gottesman. The whole experience was painless. He is very knowledgeable and professional.He was very open to my questions and concerns. His great sense of humor and friendliness made me feel very comfortable during the surgery.
Dr. Gottesman is the best dentist i've ever been too. And trust me i had a lot of dentistry in my life. Highly recommend Dr. Gottesman to anyone who needs periodontist.

About Hygienist: After meeting Dr. Gottesman i decided to have my cleanings done at his practice. Karleen, my hygienist rocks. She's very , gentle and very thorough. Can't wait for my next cleaning.
Being a Pt of Dr. gottesman has been a complete pleasure. I love coming to the offIce, it is very clean and not to mention beautiful. Dr. gottesman is friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. he listens to your needs does a thorough consultation and treats you accordingly. I had dental implants placed and it was completely painless and went very well. His work is nothing less then excellent! I would recommend him to anyone who needs any periodontal work and wants it done right!

Extremely professional and excellent demeanor--I now understand why this office comes so highly recommended. Instead of rushing me out like many doctors might, Dr. Gottesman took his time answering my many questions, explained why he was doing what he was doing, and even went out of his way to give me references for other doctors in the city when I mentioned I was new to New York.
About Front Desk: Also extremely helpful and very nice--responded promptly to all of my emails and were very helpful with accomodating my scheduling issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Gottesman and the staff at Perio NYC and this will certainly be my go-to shop if I need any more dental work!
About Hygienist: I've only been in for a consultation, but the facilities were impressive and if the hygienist is anything like the rest of the staff I'm sure they are great.
My former Endodontist and Surgeon moved and was flying back to LA to get dental work. I knew I had to find someone local with all of my teeth issues. I was referred to Dr. Gottesman. Since then, I've had 3 extractions and implants completed. Based on my experience so far and comparisons based on prior dental work, Dr. Gottesman and his team are a top shelf operation. From the moment you walk into that door you are catered to at the utmost level. It's scary and upsetting to have to loose teeth and have them replaced especially when you have spent a ton of $$$ in the past, but to know that you are in great and caring hands provides you with that comfort needed. I now go there for my routine cleanings and whenever I have another tooth fail! They do what they can to accommodate any emergency visit. The staff including the receptionists are well trained and can answer questions asked on a medical level. All in, I'm so thankful to have Dr. Gottesman as my go to guy!

I had a procedure to cut back my gums. I am very happy with my results and the service I was provided. The facility is beautiful and I was given great care. The support staff is friendly and accommodating. I would definately recomend this dentist!!!
I had the most incredible experience with Dr. Gottesman. He performed a crown lengthening, so more of my teeth would show when I smiled. The procedure and recovery was not painful at all and I am extremely excited and happy with the results. I had the procedure on Thursday and was back at work on Monday with no swelling. I was always very insecure about my smile, and with this procedure Dr. Gottesman boosted my confidence. He is intelligent, incredibly kind, approachable, and caring. I have already recommended him to several of my friends and will continue to do so.
His staff was very accommodating and kind as well. The office is very clean.
My daughter was born missing both of her adult lateral incisors. At age 17 and after 2 years of orthodontic treatment she was ready for implants and referred to Dr. Gottesman. We scheduled a consultation. At that appointment he made my daughter feel comfortable, explained everything clearly and took the time to answer our questions. The office is beautiful and the staff is friendly and professional. The day of the implant surgery everyone took excellent care of my daughter and kept me informed. Dr. Gottesman gave us his cell phone number in case of an emergency, he called that night to see how my daughter was feeling and a member of the staff called the next day. After two weeks we returned for a follow up appointment. Both implants were healing as planned with no problems. I would highly recommend Dr. Gottesman.

Doctor Gottesman has great a personality and a light touch! Attentive to patient's needs, very good communicator, explains the procedure in detail and in layman's terms, thus greatly reducing the anxiety and fear.

I had 3 bone inserts, sinus bone insert and deep scaling in thehalf of my mouth. There was no pain during and after each procedure. Dr Gottesman was very attentive to my emotional state during each procedure and was always aware of me as a person. There was also good followup when I got home.
I am still under treatment but everything was a success and I would highly recommend him to anyone who need periodontal work
The staff are also excellant and the office is lovely. A patient has a view od a beautiful garden while the work is being done.
Dr.Gottesman recently performed both an extraction of #9 and an implant in the same place. I was extremely nervous about both procedures and I’m very pleased with both the outcome and the actual process as well. The extraction was far less invasive than I expected. During the extraction, Dr.Gottesman proved to be very kind and informative, explaining and sharing information about the procedure. Post extraction, discomfort/pain was minimal and I healed up rather quickly. The process was seamless and I’m very thankful for it. After healing, I had an implant to replace my missing tooth. The actual installation of the implant was just as seamless as the extraction, I even giggled a little during the procedure. Post implant, my mouth definitely got ugly before it starting turning for the better. During the initial week of healing I was somewhat concerned and worried about what was going on, and Dr.Gottesman was extremely helpful and so was the rest of his office. It should also be noted that his staff are the kindest and most gentle people i’ve had the pleasure of dealing with in an doctor's office type setting. I feel very lucky and I will recommend his work highly for many years to come.
About Front Desk: Front desk staff is amazing and extremely helpful. Setting up appointments was easy and the help with my insurance was a delightful surprise. My medicines were called in to the pharmacy on my behalf and in general everyones attitude was very kind and pleasant. Awesome group of people.
Ed is a champion at what he does. Thoughtful, careful and caring. Never left with any residual pain, and I have had four implants performed by him and his terrific crew of assistants.

About Hygienist: Karleen has been my hygienist for at least 10 years. She is terrific, and I always leave feeling better.
My first visit to Dr. Gottesman's office could not have been more pleasant. His friendly staff and brownstone setting made me feel more like I was visiting a day spa than a dental office. After spending a few minutes in the wood paneled, warmly appointed waiting room replete with fireplace, I was quickly whisked into a dental chair overlooking a small garden. All the while gently calmed with pleasant classical music as I watched small birds feed from seed spread in the snow. The surgery could not have been more painless and the recovery has been swift. I attribute the surgery going so well not just to the pleasant setting but the manner in which Dr. Gottesman treats his patients and makes them feel like he actually cares about their individual case. He takes the time to explain what and why everything is happening and is totally patient with any questions or concerns that you have. He makes you feel totally at ease! If there was a way to give more than 5 stars I certainly would give them all.

I had crown lengthening done for my "gummy smile". In terms of the treatment and results, I'm extremely satisfied. I had originally come in to try and get my lip repositioned after doing research online, but Dr. Gottesman gave an expert opinion that gum reshaping would give me the effect that I was actually looking for. He was 100% correct, and I'm glad that I trusted him. The technique he used allowed my gums to heal within a few days and I was able to go back to work soon after. It's amazing what a difference a few millimeters of tooth can make!
Additionally, Dr. Gottesman's staff and bedside manner are so warm and friendly. I always do a lot of research and end up at high-profile health service providers. Unfortunately, I've found that most NYC practitioners don't give you more than ten minutes of their time during a consultation. Dr. Gottesman must have spent an hour with me explaining my condition and showing examples of results that I could expect. He made me feel completely comfortable and recommended a procedure that would make sense for me rather than trying to sell me a bunch of procedures. Highly recommend this office for anyone who's suffered from gummy smile! It's much easier to remedy than you think!
