My 14 year old daughter was referred by her Pediatric dentist due to her high anxiety to Dr. Zandstra . She had been a patient at the Pediatric practice for 12 years. She had just completed two years of orthodontics and had an unusually high cavity rate due to medications she is taking. She needed white composite fillings in all the visible front teeth on the sides, back and between teeth. The Pediatric dentist thought Dr. Zanstra could do better quality work more quickly and with less anxiety due to her specialized training aesthetics. Our first appt was a consultation, and Dr. Zandstra went over the treatment plan. She talked with our daughter to explain how they could successfully work together. The first couple appointments went well, then we found the topical anesthetic didn't numb enough. Dr. Zandstra researched other topical applications, found one called the "bandaid" that is pricy, but works exceedingly well. Our daughter will always have emotional needs, but knows Dr. Zandstra is great at setting her at ease and accomplishing the work in a professional manner. The fillings in the front are so smooth and properly contoured, one would not guess she has had any fillings. Dr. Zandstra is an artist in dentistry!
