I asked to have molds of my upper and lower jaws made and have them put on an articulator to find out where some tension in my teeth was coming from. Dr. Liu said this was not possible, and the only way would be to use the drill and do an occlusion adjustment. I stated my concerns saying that I did not want any enamel taken away and would prefer to go the minimally invasive route. Again, he said the drill was the only way to go, but assured me that I would not even notice the very macro amounts that would be removed. So slight that it would not be noticeable. I was misdirected in treatment. What I came away with was enamel shaved from the sides of my teeth from his drill and the tops of my bottom teeth feel like course sandpaper. Nothing what like the doctor described to me before starting the procedure. I am shocked at the state he left my teeth in. This was not expected, nor discussed. In addition to excessive enamel being shaved away on perfectly healthy teeth, I am left with a collapsed bite that now has to be fixed; both the bite and the shaved teeth. All out my pocket. I am shocked and very disappointed with the experience. Why did he not start by offering a proper night guard, instead of destroying healthy enamel?
