Do NOT go to Dr. Johnson. I first went about 9 years, and after very few dental problems, he tells me I need a root canal due to an uncaught cavity that went awry. After the procedure, he casually says that I'll likely loose the tooth to decay eventually no matter how much care I take of it. Flash forward 8 years, and I find myself under a dental plan that brings me back his way. Again, he tells me I need a root canal (tooth right by my last one). I stupidly say ok without a second opinion and have it done. A year later (I was pregnant when I went to him and waited until now for my first cleaning), I go to a new dentist and am told the latest root canal is bad. This sends me to a root canal specialist who then tells me my recent root canal is not ideal but ok, but it's the FIRST one that is bad - the roots are infected because it was not filled properly. I'm now on a journey to find a new dentist as I am in pain and will likely need to have the tooth completely removed - at a great expense no less. Learn from my mistakes. If your dentist recommends a major procedure, unless you trust him/her implicitly or are having pain in that tooth, get a second opinion first before doing anything!!!!!!!
