He claims he was unable to just replace the filling with a new one and that I needed a crown. I ended up paying $800 for a crown and gum trimming that I probably wouldn't have needed if he hadn't scraped my filling so roughly. He convinced my wife to go with the higher end denture model which of course cost twice as much ($900 more). Fortunately, my daughter intervened and questioned the recommendation. The higher end dentures were not any more durable, only cosmetically more appealing with 'natural' looking teeth. The higher end dentures certainly were not a sensible choice for my wife who is over 65 yo., and shame on him for pressuring a senior into selecting them. We've switched dentists since then.
