My wife and I went both (at different times) for a tooth extraction. In my case there was also an abscess which is why the doctor recommended the extraction. Some things I didn't liked:
She recommended additional to the extraction an angioplasty and a bioplam (not sure is the right spelling) and of course they where not included in the insurance which meant almost $600 extra out of the pocket after a co-pay of $25 for the extraction itself. Talking with another dentist she said they were only necessary if a dental implant was planned (not the case for both). Asked Dr. Chinta if there was a way to do only the extraction she say no. Also, and most important, I didn't liked the fact that she wanted to do everything right away without first eliminating the infection or the abscess, something I believe should be done to prevent some potential problems later. I was given antibiotic only after I requested them. She didn't had any other kind of payment help and the bill should be paid the same day.
