If I could give 0 stars I would. My daughter has been coming here since she was a toddler, she is now 14. I was never impressed with the office. I never liked how kids have to go in the back alone. Parents must wait in the waiting room. I was never impressed with the Dr, he always struck me as being sort of... not sure the word I am looking for? Maybe like the kid friendly version of Dr Nick from the Simpsons. Anyway, for the last year, her father and I have known she would need braces. Fast forward to last nights visit. My daughter comes out, Dr says she has no cavities and needs to floss more often. He says my daughter needs braces. I ask him if we need a referal to go to an orthodontist. He says to me, "Well she needs braces, but she said she doesn't want them. You shouldn't force her to get braces, It will just be a fight." Um exuse me? I am the parent, she is a juvenile dependant. My insurance company pays you to care for her teeth and answer my questions and concerns about her dental health. A 14 year old is not old enough to make her own medical decisions, nor should you as a medical provider sit there and undermine my authority and responsibility as a parent to ensure my childs well being! This is a medical decision that has already been made on her behalf by both of her parents. Needless to say, we will be finding a new dentist!
