Do you love your dentist?
Everyone had their recommendations, but I held out (for 2 years)for someone to tell me that they LOVED their dentist before I changed to Mark Thomases. He has a great sense of humor, but is very no-nonsense about a patient's responsibility for taking care of his/her teeth.
How many of you have had you teeth cleaned personally by the dentist? Throughout my life, the dentist was always the guy who came in and spoke to me about my x-ray for two minutes, after someone else cleaned my teeth. I'd never imagined having a dentist who would roll up his sleeves and get right down in there for an extended close look.
I've seen Mark answer his own office phone and he treats his staff with tremendous respect. He takes notes on your dental conversations, and on the next visit, he asks if you have improved specific habits. If you have, then he'll discuss the next steps for improving your dental care, which he expects you to pursue. It's a great approach for people like me, who work best one step at a time.
I'm about to transfer our three children to his care - currently they are seen by one of 6 or 7 randomly assigned dentists working in side-by-side chairs in a large common room. Can you say "assembly line?"
