Nice guy but clearly too old and out of step with current dental practices. No one else in waiting room on both appointments. Told me novacaine (or any pain relief) for second stage of root canal removal was not necessary! Didn't treat an existing infection with antibiotics before root canal and I had to work to get them from him after major infection set in, when in retrospect it seems obvious that antibiotics would be necessary. His wife (old, forgetful, frivolous) helped assist on second stage of procedure and was very incompetent. I hate to say that since I've had positive experiences with spouses of dentists assisting, but she clearly wasn't up to it. She couldn't find the right tools or filling for long stretches of time, they both left the room for long periods while they attempted to get things together... etc..
Time for this guy to retire.
