When I visited Dr Kern, I hadn't been to a dentist in years after being traumatized by my last experience. He put me at ease by explaining everything before doing it. I had to visit twice to get several fillings done. The first time, he used a bit too much anesthetic so I was numb for twice the period he said I would be after the fillings. I had him correct it the next time. It's good to have a doctor who responds to you instead of being offended by receiving feedback.
Dr Kern is on the expensive side of the spectrum. I hit my insurance limit about 2/3 of the way, and he charged me full price for the rest. Fortunately, I was able to convince the office to charge me the lower rate they charge my company.
