Dr. Payton removed my daughter's disc's in December 2014 and she is now Ankylosis. After scheduling her for a Total Joint replacement I found an FDA letter issued to the company that was providing the joints prohibiting them from selling or distributing these joints to anyone. I forwarded this information to the surgeon's office and was told that it was only for the partial joints and not the total joints like my daughter was getting. It was for the total joints as well as the partial. He than went ahead and canceled the surgery for my daughter saying that he did not use any other joints provided by other companies which in fact is crap because all surgeons use different devices. He tried to tell my daughter at one of her visits that they were only doing one side when she in fact signed a consent for a Bilateral. Since he canceled the surgery it is has been impossible to find another surgeon to do the surgery. She can only open her mouth between 5MM to 8MM, her condyles are eroding and her joints are deteriorating. He knows this because he even said if it was his daughter he would get the surgery for her. Don't ever go to this surgeon or practice for problems with your jaw. He will no longer provide care for my 22 year old.

About Front Desk: The insurance coordinator at this office is no better that the surgeon. She made my life miserable during the whole time we were trying to get the surgery done for my daughter and would not submit pre-approval to my insurance company. She than goes on to tell me that after the surgery my daughter will be in the hospital under 23 hour observation even though this surgery is very invasive and typically requires up to a week stay in the hospital. They don't care about the patient at all when it comes to their heath. I told them in the beginning that my insurance company will most likely approve this surgery because they have in the past. They didn't even call my daughter up on the phone to cancel the surgery even though she is 22. They had me tell her. This is the worst doctor's office ever and even the medical board does not care that they were going to put joints in her jaw that the FDA was saying not to sell. I was never made aware of this and neither was my daughter. I found the information all on my own.
