Had a consultation in spring of 2016. I needed lower wisdom teeth extracted. I discussed with Dr Stempien that I had been taking the bone density drug FOSAMAX+D. He told me that that can cause "dead jaw syndrome" on lower jaw extractions. I told him I was only on it 5 months and off 3 months. Also the prescribing doctor of the drug gave me the go ahead to have the extractions. He said complications are quite rare. Dr Stempien said he would call me back as to what would be a safe time to wait after going off the FOSAMAX. Well I waited one month and no call back. I called back every month for "months" and every time the person answering the phone "assured me" I would get a call back about the FOSAMAX issue. So after months of trying to get a call back I just gave up. So as it stands he took my money for the consultation. ....I assume this means I was accepted as a patient....then he dumped me. I am wondering if this is medical abandonment? I just don't understand. This used to be the best oral surgeon in the Boston suburbs. Stempien had a top reputation....the best......a real shame how his practice changed.

About Front Desk: I called them for "months" trying to get a call back from Dr Stempien about an urgent issue. Never got a call back so I just gave up

I know this doctor: had a tooth pulled 30 years ago...he was excellent
