I went on line to find a dentist in Coronado. There were several dentists listed and several patient reviews. I couldn't help noticing that Daryl Catherwood, my former dentist on Tenth Street had some good reviews in earlier years but marginal reviews for the last two years.
In my opinion the dentist rated by others in 2010 and 2011 is not the same doctor in 2012. I, too, gave him a favorable rating two years ago. I know he said he is going through a very contentious divorce and has had an endless turnover of staff for two years but he should be strong enough to separate his personal problems from his professional care and responsibility to patients. First, he told his new blond receptionist to overcharge my wife $226.20. and falsely claimed our insurance authorized the overcharge. Now he refuses to replace my temporary crown with a permanent crown . The temporary crown is causing swelling and pain but his blond receptionist told me to find another dentist to complete the work on the tooth which her doctor left unfinished. I asked to see the doctor face to face but the busty blond said she was speaking for him. Beware the power of a botched marriage and a new young, blond receptionist on an unfinished botched crown

This office was horrible wait was long, new staff front office manager so she calls her self is rude, dresses very unprofessional. Easiest way to describe her ghetto. She is running this family practice office like a clinic. She billed my insurance for xrays that I did not take, and did not want to take I had a pano 3 months ago. I do not need anymore there suppose to be every 6 months. The doctor was very nice and kind before this new change. The two girls in the back laura, and patrice I believe are very nice, helpful. Terasa is awesome she does my cleaning. All I can say is he will be losing many more patients if it continues like this

Horrible service! Waitied in the waiting room for over an hour past my appointment time. I went 15 minutes early and nothing. The front desk is very unorganized, they asked for my insrance information when I made the appointment 2 weeks in advance and it wasnt verified when I got there and they asked for all the information again. The Doctor was great but the staff needs an attitude adjustment Especially suzanne one of the assistants who was very rude. WILL NEVER GO TO THAT OFFICE AGAIN!
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!

We used to live in Coronado but now live in Massachusetts. Dr. Catherwood solved some very bad bite problems and cosmetic issues caused by another dentist... something three other dentists were unable to do. He is SO good that I fly from MA to Coronado twice a year because I trust no other dentist like I trust him. He is a perfectionist in the best sense of the word, an incredibly talented dentist and a truly wonderful person too. Neither my husband nor I would go to anyone else.

I feel that Dr. Catherwood is the best dentist in the world, i am very satisfied with my results and will keep him as my dentist until i die.

Excellent dentist! Very fair in what he charges. Does outstanding cosmetic dentistry, is a perfectionist in doing quality work. Great personality, wonderful dentist!
About Hygienist: Excellent Hygienist. Is passionate about proper hygiene and doing an excellent job. Enjoys educating and interacting with her patients.

Dr. Catherwood is the best dentist, and he has excellent staff. Employees are very friendly and very kind. My 3year old son loves Dr. Catherwood, and his staff as well. They treat and connect patients as personal level.

Wonderful dentist, will always go above and beyond. Very nice office staff, clean facilities. Best dentist out there.

I've been to many dentists, but haven't stayed with one as long as I've been with Dr. Catherwood. He is definitely a perfectionist, and remembers everything from each visit. He will work out a payment plan when taking on an expensive procedure. His newest dental hygenist is very thorough as well.

He is the best the price is a little bit high but it is so worth it. there is no pain because he uses this weird needle, you dont feel a thing. he is also super nice and not super angry.
About Hygienist: She is super nice and friendly. If you ever want a talk and a clean she is the woman you need to see.
