My son had a very complex underbite, and when he was very young I had several orthodontists tell me there was nothing which could be done and he would face certain jaw surgery later in life. Dr. Thomas explained that with braces, my son's underbite could be minimized and perhaps corrected. Knowing, however, that it would likely mean two series of braces (once at age 9 and again in his teens) without certain success, Dr. Thomas developed a dialogue with my son to ensure he was committed to the brushing and other discipline required. My son was a trooper, and the initial results were nothing short of spectacular; with a perfect bite. Once in his teens, as my son grew, his underbite reappeared, and he was again very uncomfortable about his bite and his appearance. He began braces at age 14 and just got them off at age 16. His teeth look terrific and he has turned into a very handsome young man. Dealing with Dr. Thomas and his staff has been terrific. They are friendly, responsive and knowledgeable; and they always take the time to communicate well with the patients and parents. I have nothing but great praise for Dr. Thomas and his team.

I have been tossed from orthodontist to orthodontist over the years, and I must say, Dr. T is the best that I have ever been with by far. His office staff is impeccable, they are very timely, and they all remember you! You walk in, and they say "Hey, Mackenzie, whats up? How's that band piece coming?" and the last appointment was several weeks ago. They get the job done, are very affective, and now i flash my smile to anyone, because it is absolutley perfect due to Dr. Thomas and his incredible staff.

I have to start by saying this is the funnest office ever!! As an adult patient going for round three of braces I chose Dr Thomas because I wanted the best (and also this to be the final time!!) He was great to work with and very informative. His staff were always pleasant and friendly. I sadly had to leave before my treatment was complete but he was great with passing on info to the new orthodontist and giving me tips on what to look for when choosing somebody new. He is also a great artist and the T-shirts are fun. HIGHLY recommend

Dr. Thomas and his staff have been in the Vienna area for over a decade. His staff (many of which have remained loyal to him for years) is always extremely friendly, and always concerned first and foremost with the patient. His office is decorated with many artifacts that his patients have drawn for him over the years, as well as decorations that come from his love of the outdoors. He is indeed a perfectionist, and is not afraid to keep you in braces a little longer than expected--but in the end it is DEFINITELY worth it. As far as the earlier review about abrasiveness, I find that to be a false and unfortunate comment. It is indeed apparent that Dr. Thomas keeps a tight ship with his staff, but never in a displeasant way. His outgoing and big personality is fun and invigorating, and I would HIGHLY reccomend him to anyone.

My treatment experience with Dr. Thomas was substantially less than a happy one. A number of years ago, as a young adult, Dr. Thomas fitted me with full-mouth braces to fix the diasthema (split) in my front teeth, and more importantly, to correct my serious crossbite. After several years of treatment--and many thousands of dollars later--I was told that my problems were corrected. After moving from the area, I have been seen by numerous dentists and oral surgeons for various procedures. All of these professionals are incredulous that I was ever an orthodontic patient. Apparently, my crossbite issue was never properly corrected, and I now face the prospect of needing full-mouth braces once again to correct a problem that should have been treated years ago.
On a personal level, in my opinion Dr. Thomas is arrogant and abrasive, despite presenting a pleasant facade initially. I recommend seeking treatment elsewhere.
