I would not recommend taking anyone to this dentist/orthodontist. it's been a long time I was a patient there, but I'm 27 now and saw him throughout most of my childhood. cleanings, fillings, 4 teeth pulled, and braces for 4 years. I almost feel traumatized by everything looking back on it. Had me held down and restrained for one tooth that he pulled, every time he did fillings he either didn't use the novicain correctly or not enough, just loaded me nitrous oxide, which I would also opt out of on over the phone or not in front of them on behalf of my child if I were a parent, but that's just my personal opinion. It's an unnecessary risk for too many reasons. I also don't like how the office is set up and runs. It's probably how a lot of child dentistry offices are but all of the games and decorations to try to make it seem less scary ended up leaving creepy memories for me since it was always followed by something scary or painful.

My Experience: Sedation Dentistry / Anesthesia

Turning a child away. Dr. witte should be ashamed of himself. Recently I took my 4 yro brother to see Dr. witte for an exam and cleaning. Like every other child under 5, he was apprehensive. ie...he cried. (there was no biting, screaming, kicking, just simply crying) Do to my brothers apprehension, his teeth were barely looked at and he was denied a cleaning. Dr. witte showed no sympathy or nurturing towards the apprehensive 4 yro, nor did he allow me to try and comfort him in any way. To top it all off, we were expected to pay the full amount of the incomplete exam and cleaning. His explanation for denying a 4 yro the needed service, was that "he didn't behave to his standards". (those standards were never disclosed). My advise to Dr. witte is that he should not advertise himself as a pediatric dentist and he needs to post a sign letting patients know that if you do not meet his standards then you will be expected to pay, and you will be denied service.

By far the best denist I've ever gone too... unfortunently he only takes those under the age of 19 or younger... i now, 21 am stuggling to find someone to replace him but so far no one has lived up to experience i had with my former denist. I wish he was still my denist... if he started taking patients of all ages tomorrow, i'd call and wait how ever long it would take in order to be treated by him.
