I had a service done for my son last Nov and paid by credit card for the service right away. I then submitted claim to my insurance company as I always did. Aetna however paid to the dental office instead of to us directly (within two weeks after we submittted the claim). We did not get any acknowledgement from the office. I realized that the reimbursement was made from Aetna in early December and called the office. I was told that the payment WAS received and a check would be sent out to us as soon as possible. A few weeks passed and I did not see a check. I called again around 1/8/2013 to ask about the check, and was told that a check was issued on 1/4/2013 which I did not receive, but no more checks would be issued until 30 days later. When I asked if a check can be issued right away as I always process all my mails on time so if I didn't get it I wouldn't get it. I was told to call again a week later. I called the office again on 1/16/2012 and was told that it wasn't even two weeks so please call back next week. I don't understand as I paid them months ago?

About Front Desk: The receptionist named Shelly is rude and made me feel I owe them. So long Dr. Ternisky I guess I will take my Patronage somewhere else!

I had a filling, and it was overall good, but it was a bit scary to hear that machine whirring, so it was fine

Dr. Mike and Dr. Cris Ann are the best. My 3 children have been patients since their first teeth came in, and we have had a wonderful experience over many years. We've had falls that resulted in front tooth trauma and they were effectively treated. The preventive care is so good that my children have never had a cavity. Unfortunately they don't take our particular insurance, which is a hassle.

My 4 year old daughter had a HORRIFIC experience at this practice. She was nervous about going to the dentist, but instead of treating her with understanding and compassion, they lied to her (told her to stop crying because there was a sleeping baby in the other room) and threatened her (told her if she didn't calm down, they would make mommy leave, which just made matters worse!!) She has a strong gag reflex, so I asked them to give her frequent breaks from cleaning. They refused, saying they didn't have time, and so she vomited. When I complained to the office manager about how the hygenist treated my daughter, she informed me that the hygenist had been following their office policies on how to treat reluctant kids. Needless to say, my daughter did not want to see a dentist ever again. In fact, its now 4 years later and she still talks about that "bad dentist" -- to her he is the epitome of evil. We switched to Dr. Nelson in Arlington, who is gentle and patient. Now both of my children actually look forward to going.

Dr. Ternisky and his entire staff make the kids feel welcome and safe. The treatments are appropriate, and all the procedures are explained to the parents.

Been going to Dr. Mike's office for over 20 years. Both my sister and I have continued coming home to go to this office after high school.

Dr. Ternisky has a lot of experience and he is one of the best dentists in my area. I took my daughters to many pediatric dentists and we could not find anyone who would have the same philosophy like me and be good with children at the same time. When I found Dr. Ternisky I was very happy. He did not use complete anesthesia (like most of the doctors suggested) and still had great success with my daughters. Thank you, Dr Ternisky.

My daughter has a bad gag reflex and needs to spit more frequent than most patients. Dr. Ternisky was performing a re-sealant on two top teeth and asked my daughter to open wide. Without asking again, he used the device to open, and hold open, her mouth. While putting in place he broke off one of her teeth. My daughter started to gag and tried to get up. The doctor asked me to hold her down and told her to quite up so he could finish. My daughter started crying and was in pain. After he finished and took out the device she was coughing and spitting blood into the sink along with her tooth. I asked him why he didn't see this. His response was that she should never get cavities since she can't take a dentist. I will never go back!!

We have been going to Dr. Mike Terniskey for 13 years as my oldest child is now 16. I have always been pleased with the qualtiy of their work, the friendly atmosphere, and the many child features (helium balloons, video game in waiting room, prizes) which made going to the dentist fun for all three children, two of whom have never had any cavities. It is hard not to go into the treatment room with very young children, and I was allowed to do so when I insisted. I understand why they find it easier without parents in most cases, but there are times when you know your child best and they will be flexible which I appreciate. I highly recommend both Dr. Mike and Dr. Chris, his daughter, who works with him.
