Dr. Deutsch's practice has remained consistently patient-friendly. This periodontist has twice performed surgery on me. The results proved marvelous. Dr. Deutsch maintains an effective chair-side manner. He explains the reasons behind each procedure. Dr. Deutsch reviews the patient's dental care efforts.
The practice's billing system is automated and comprehensive to the user. Unfortunatedly, the practice does not process insurance claims on site. Dr. Deutsch could improve in this area.
About Hygienist: The hygienists of this practice pay attention to the needs of patients. They explain procedures and inquire if the patient is comfortable. The hygienists have taught me that they and the patients must collaborate to maintain the patient's teeth.

Dr. Deutsch did 4 quadrant periodontal procedures on me ... each one was painless, and I think that my gums are in great shape as a result. He also did a gum graft that saved a tooth I (and my general dentist) was sure I was going to lose. He and his staff are always very friendly, and seem to take a genuine interest in me. I don't have insurance, so I can't comment on his insurance help. I have recommended him to friends, and will continue to recommend him without reservation. Once you start periodontal procedures with him, he requests that you continue to use his office for follow-up care, so I see his hygienists for routine cleanings ... they are efficient and relatively painless (no novacaine for cleanings, of course). Comparing the treatment that I got with that of friends who have had similar procedures, I would say that I was extremely lucky to find Dr. Deutsch, and that's what makes me say he's the best in the area. Everyone else I spoke to described pain and swelling from their procedures ... I had none of either. My comment on cost is not really an intelligent one ... I have no comparisons to make.

Dr. Deutsch has a very arrogant attitude when approached by his patients about negative outcomes (i.e. if the procedure did not go as one had anticipated). Dentists can make mistakes like anyone else but Dr. Deutsch will not accept that he makes ANY ERRORS. He has refused to apologize or accept any responsiblity for any poor outcomes. I would recommend that you seek a periodonist with a more professional and ethical approach to care.

Has good hygienists and front desk personnel are very good at handling the insurance maze.

Dr. Deutsch staff is polite and helpful. Nurses are caring and comforting. Dr. Deutsch has many years experience and is friendly, competent and confident. He worked closely with my dentist for a solution to a sensitive problem and saved my tooth structure.
