HORRIBLE interpersonal skills. We took our three foster children to him who had never visited a dentist and he ruined any chance of them respecting/understanding dental hygiene. They are anxious, scared, and resentful of all dentists thanks to his rough and harsh manner. He shoved his fingers in my 5 year old's mouth without even acknowledging her and made fun of her when she got upset and started crying. My husband and our other daughters tried to console her then he tried to force them into the waiting room. He told our 8 year old she was going to lose all her adult teeth before she was fifteen and got defensive when my husband stepped in to remove our daughter from his office, scolding my husband for the lack of care for her teeth knowing very well this was the first opportunity she had been given to visit a dentist. Do NOT take your children here if you want them to become responsible in caring for their teeth.

Simply put, Dr. Claybon has no kind or gentle chairside manner. He rushes through exams and is extremely rough with patients and often heard are screams when sitting in the waiting area. As far as pain, he forgets the numbing gel and goes straight in the mouth with the needle without letting the patient know first which causes jerking of pain in the chair. The office is cramped and if you aren't a size 2, you probably have to turn sideways to get into the room. The staff has no voice because they are constantly listening to the dentist talking over them and lecturing each patient as he cleans their teeth. Oh yes, cleaning the teeth, Dr. Claybon only polishes a few teeth and claims that is cleaning them. Don't worry though, everyone in the waiting room can hear all of your flaws because the walls are thin and there are no privacy doors or curtains. Where did confidentiality go?
