My experience with Ronald M. Hagen's DDS and his office manager at the end was very bad! If Dr. Hagen is a good dentist his cold stone demeanor (not friendly), his insensitivity and unwillingness to collaborate with a patient when he's requested a treatment plan of what he is verbally recommending should make anyone cautious!!! It is customary that insurance companies require treatment plans when the work to be done exceeds certain amounts. I told the dentist's office manager I must have a treatment plan before a certain deadline to get the funds approved to start treatment.. The dentist and his office manager did not give a damn!!! When I reminded the office manager of the treatment plan she became very angry and warned me I should consider another dentist because Dr. Hagen usually does not give treatment plans to anyone. The dentist never gave me the treatment plan and neither he bothered to tell me the overall condition of my special needs son's initial exam/x rays because he rushed to to go see another patient. The chatter with the office mgr on appearances is good as long as you don't ask for treatment plans, her demeanor changes. I changed dentists and was told that new office has no problems giving a T. Plan.

About Front Desk: The office manager is the front desk staff. She usually carries on a friendly chatter with everyone until she is asked to provide a treatment plan of what the dentist is recommending, and her friendly demeanor changes to a very unfriendly one and tells you that only Dr. Hagen gives treatment plans. She then to turn her attention to other matters. She tells the patient only Dr. Hagen can give treatment plans, but you never see him again unless you have an appointment.

Re-did a permanent molar crown for my wife which was too high and ill-fitting. He started from scratch and sanded down the prior build-up, took impression and sent to lab for a new crown of PFM (porcelain fused over metal). My wife told him she still has mild aching months later, and can't get dental floss between margins, food gets stuck in it, etc. Dr. didn't seem to care and no followup after 2 weeks. My wife is looking for a new dentist for a 3rd crown!

Dr. Hagen performed a filling on me and it felt like I had HUGE hands in my mouth. Not smooth at all. Then, I noticed after I left that he managed to FILE DOWN part of my tooth while doing the filling (a part of the tooth that did not have to be touched). THEN, the filling began to hurt and hasn't stopped hurting in months. I went back once to try and fix the problem but he just sanded down more of the filling (which ended up aggravating the problem). In addition to this horrible experience, his receptionist is EXTREMELY rude.

About Hygienist: EXCELLENT hygienist! The best cleaning I've ever had. Too bad the dentist is so unskilled.

Dr. Hagen seemed very nice and professional. I would recommend him but not his hygienist.

About Hygienist: Due to change of insurance I had to switch dentists & visited Dr. Hagen's office for the first time. The hygienist did a good job of cleaning. However, was impatient and not gentle when taking x-rays. I explained to her that my mouth is small and previous hygienists needed to bend the corners of the plate that is inserted in my mouth for the x-ray. She insisted that the plate could fit and forced it into my mouth. When I gagged and told her it was painful she got impatient and said I just needed to relax! She kept shoving it in my mouth and was visibly irritated when I cried out in pain. Although I liked Dr. Hagen, I will not be going back to his office because I refuse to be abused by that hygienist again. I give him good marks but unfortunately his hygienist caused pain, stress and anxiety.
