I had two root canals and one of them was infected, so it was a difficult tooth. I hate the dentist and was dreading the canal. Dr ortner was wonderfull i didnt feel any pain and he perscribed a anti anziety drug and offered a free check up for my difficult tooth. I wish I could have him do all my dental work. Hes a jewel. The office was clean and customer service was great, the tools were high tech and efficient in reducing time, pain and stress. It was a 11 out of 10, and thats coming from someone who hates the dentist.

I have had just about every dental procedure possible, and needed an emergency root canal under some very tricky bridgework. Few people do this kind of work, it is that complex. Ortner was amazing. No pain, remarkable skill. I actually held a mirror in my hand and watched him do it. I paid out of pocket (considerable sum) instead of using my insurance plan at a local HMO and it was worth every cent.

Had emergency root canal done. They stayed after hours to make sure that I didn't have to wait another day in pain. His assistants were very comforting and competent. The office staff were extremely helpful. Here are some of the things I experienced: the doctor shook my hand on the way out, one of his assistants made sure that I was okay by patting my shoulder during the procedure; this was very reassuring. They definitely have the special touch.

Dr. Ortner is the BEST Endodontic Dentist I have been to--and I have had many root canals, both here and in Canada. The staff is superbly trained and reflects Dr. Ortner's total commitment to patient care. His state-of-the-art office is easily reached and has a 24 hour Walgreens just up the road, so if you have to go in on an Emergency basis, you can get everything in one trip. He has come in on a holiday with an assistant when I have been in pain.

Dr. Ortner re-did a root canal that failed after 33 yrs. He was up front about the liklihood of success (60%). He is very calming, explains everything, looks you in the eye, smiles and touches you (appropriately) on the arm while talking. He did his best to minimize my anxiety and make it a relatively pain free experience. This is very expensive care in a very posh atmosphere by a very good endodontist. His staff is friendly and helpful.

Pleasant staff, including Ortner himself. He is cutting-edge about his equipment and procedures. Other dentists remarked on the excellence of his work after looking at photos. Only drawbacks: he is very busy and hard to get an appointment with; he seems expensive (although perhaps that's the going rate, I'm not sure); he did not call to follow up and make sure I was OK, and I was having pain after the procedure and it took me awhile to get hold of him.

I used Dr. Ortner as a "second opinion", to verify the findings of another endodontist whose recommendation I was not comfortable with. Am I glad I did! Dr. Ortner not only found the RIGHT tooth which needed the root canal but was patient and attentive to all my needs as I am a chicken when it comes to dental procedures. And the whole experience was not more annoying than a big filling! And NO pain afterwards either! Four thumbs up!!!

I had a root canal done. With the help of "laughing gas" and gentle treatment, this was all in all, a very good experience! And I am usually a nervous wreck in the dental chair.
