True snake oil salesman, pushy with products and services. Extremely unprofessional, makes rude comments and then laughs like he is joking. Office staff is rude as well. They truly need cultural training.

About Front Desk: Rude, basically called me a liar. Pushy with services as well.

About Hygienist: She was kind, almost seemed embarrassed at the behavior of the dentist.

Dr. Gillikin is a very good dentist. His office staff, however, make it impossible to get a procedure done. They do not return calls, repeatedly. They are slow and sloppy in filing insurance estimates. It is like pushing a rock uphill getting the staff to first of return a call and second get them to focus on getting an estimate completed. Even the insurance company shows multiple records of never returned calls when seeking information to complete an estimate. I have never ever encountered such a level of incompetence. Watch your estimate carefully when you get it back (finally) because they try to up charge and sneak in unnecessary costs.

About Front Desk: I have nothing to say about the front desk staff because it is nonexistent. There is no one in charge in this practice. It is a revolving door of new faces and I understand completely why1

About Hygienist: Very good hygienist.

Dr. Gillikin and his staff were awesome. They did not ever try to up-sell me at anytime. In fact, they were the ONLY dentist which honored my insurance. They also worked with me over time. I had not been to a dentist in 25 - 30 years except for 2 extractions over that time. I had another dentist tell me I needed a root canal and did NOT honor my insurance. Which is what brought me to Dr. Gillikin. I actually did not need a root canal at that time. I did have holes in my mouth that needed to be fixed. Over time, Dr. Gillikin worked with me and completed the work necessary over a 2 yr. period of time. Now my teeth are in great shape and look really good too. I am SO GLAD I found this dental office. Dr. Gillikin is an AWESOME dentist. I personally highly recommend him and his team. Great people. Friendly, understanding and non-judgmental.

About Front Desk: Very friendly & helpful when it came to scheduling appointments with my very busy, sometimes challenging schedule.

Dr. G did several fillings and crowns for me over about 2 yrs. The treatments were almost always fine. However, Dr. G's chair-side manner is unsatisfactory in my opinion. Dr. G and the dental assistants habitually engaged in small talk over my gaping mouth. I would have preferred to be the center of their attention while they were working on my teeth. He also occasionally made me feel guilty/responsible for my dental issues, once stating I "must not be flossing right" without following up with guidance. One evening, I was the last patient in the office and he used some profane language, perhaps not knowing I was still at the front desk. I also find him to be a slightly arrogant person. Will not return.

About Front Desk: Amelia at the front desk is very nice, but the amount I would be responsible for paying out of pocket after insurance was constantly incorrectly estimated despite the language of my plan being clear about what was covered. This left me with unexpected costs. I could not even appeal the coverage with my insurance company because the plan clearly stated how much they would pay, and the dentist's office estimated a higher amount of coverage. When she scheduled me for a root canal toward the end of last year, she assured me that I had not reached my maximum benefit for the year and estimated how much my insurance would cover. I paid the quoted difference up front. Then a week after the procedure I received a bill for the full amount of the procedure and crown ($2231) with an explanation of benefits stating that my anuual maximum benefit had in fact already been met prior to that last appointment. Do yourself a favor and become very familiar with what your plan covers. Do not take the office's word for it when agreeing to treatment.

Horrible experiences. Multiple visits required for simple preventative care. Both the dentist and hygienist tried to upswell on root planning and scaling because of gingivitis at the price of 700 after ins. I called bs because I had just been to a family member while on vacation who is a dentist and he fixed a filling and pulled my wisdom teeth and said that everything looked fine. The dentist then refused to do the normal cleaning covered by my insurance. Needless to say I will not be returning.
