Do not get root canals done here she is not an expert. She wouldn't even refer me to the expert in the same building that would have done my root canal properly l. Second she charged me for the same work twice and called it something different I spent 1500$ on one tooth and didn't even have a crown put in she ruined my tooth for life watch out this is not a professional business. Gorgeous and friendly staff and is good for cleaning but nothing else.

When I first moved to the area I was in need of a new dentist. I was nervous as I like a lot of others. I came across Lower Harbor Family Dental and I thought I would give them a try and was very pleased. I have been back a few times and will continue to come back and my anxiety has gone down. Dr. Palomaki is very gentle, understanding and accomdating.

About Front Desk: The front desk staff is very helpful and knowledgabe. They are understanding and accodating with my hecktic work schedule. They offer a ASAP list that they can write down the days and times that work better for you. I find this very helpful! The front desk is very friendly and gives a good vibe when you walk into the office!!

About Hygienist: The hygienist was amazing, that is saying a lot as I have dental anxiety. She was very gentle, caring, concering and patient. She did a very good job at explaining and cleaning. My teeth felt great when she weas done. I had a cleaning, exam and x-rays.

My whole family is treated by Dr. Palomaki and we love her! I take it as a great testimonial that the kids aren't afraid to go to the dentist. She's very patient, gentle and friendly. The hygienist who does our cleanings is also fantastic! We haven't needed any major work: cleanings, a few fillings, a mouthguard, whitenings. She's been fantastic and I recommend Dr. Palomaki to anyone.

As a patient of Dr. Palomaki's for many years I can't imagine have dental work done by any other dentist. She is gentle and genuinely caring. I have had numerous crowns and an implant that I am very happy with.

My son is a freshman at NMU. He needed some dental work (several fillings) and Dr. Palomaki was the first available in our network. Unfortunately, the experience was very negative for him (and he never typically complains about pain). Terms he used included "uncomfortable" "rough/painful", "primitive" plus a few more negatives. His head is still aching 2 weeks after the appointment and it is clear that the work needs to be re-done.

The doctor is not very friendly, nor is she good at explaining treatment. I know several people who needed her work to be redone. Her staff is fantastic, especially her assistants, but she has had no less than 14 receptionists in the past 5 years- a sure sign she's not treating them very well! Her bills are confusing, and nobody seems to be able to figure out why you owe what you owe, so if you don't have insurance that will pay for everything completely, beware! I will NOT be seeing Dr. Palomaki again.
