Dr. Patterson and his staff made a procedure I have dreaded for 20 years as pleasant and painless as possible (extraction of 4 non-impacted wisdom teeth). The office facilities are clean and welcoming, his medical and administrative staff explained things very clearly and helped eliminate anxiety, and he is a skilled doctor with good bedside manner. The extraction sites are healing quite well with a minimum of discomfort. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Patterson to a friend or family member.

I had to have an emergency extraction done and was referred to Dr. Patterson by a friend and co-worker. When I called, I was surprised to get an appointment early on the same day. I was taken back promptly after checking in, and Crystal explained what my cost would be for the day. She was thorough in explaining how my procedure would go and what I could expect after leaving the office. Dr. Patterson was very gentle and my comfort level was his main concern. Once my appointment was done, I was given a bag that had my prescriptions, aftercare instructions, chap-stick and Mortrin. I checked out and was reminded that there was an on-call doctor in the event that I needed anything. What a great idea to have the exit in a different spot than the waiting room!! Later that evening, Dr. Patterson, called me to make sure I was feeling alright and didn't have any questions.
......Being someone who works in the medical field, your biggest hope is that each patient walks away with the type of experience I had with Dr. Patterson and the crew at Northern Virginia Oral, Maxillofacial and Implant surgery. I feel confident my friends and family would have a similar experience and will not hesitate to recommend them if the need arise.Good Work!!

I didn't swell up, I didn't feel pain and something as simple as an ice pack right after surgery made my enitre experience a welcoming surprise. Dr. Patterson even called at 7:45pm to ask how I was feeling. I'm a sales person an I know how hard it is to follow up with customers and I can't even imagine excecuting these calls after a day of sergery. I will recommend Dr. Patterson to all who wish to have a quick and painless recovery wish amazing 1 on 1 service. Thank you Dr. Patterson and I hope everyon that reads this knows I am sincere. Go see Dr. Patterson to feel the real painless dental experience.

I LOVE Dr. Patterson! He put me at ease about the surgery I needed to have performed (extraction of all 4 wisdom teeth at age 30). He walked me through step-by-step what was going to happen during the surgery and what I could expect during recovery. The customer service was exemplary and I'm even referring him to others that have mentioned a need for the types of services he provides.

Yesterday, 11/22/10, I had my tooth extracted by Dr Patterson with Crystal assisting. I was so anxious and afraid. They both put my mind at ease. After the injection which, lets face it is going to sting, I had no pain. Before I knew it they were done. I wish I had not waited 6 months and two abscess's out of fear. Dr Patterson took all my fear away.
I have been to many professionals for my teeth in 50 years and I have to say that Dr Patterson was the best. I would recommend him without reservation

Dr Patterson examined my teeth and explained to me that i needed to hae two of my teeth extracted. From his chairside manner to the extraction of my two teeth he made sure i was comfortable, pain free, and understood the procedures necessity and how much it would improve my daily health. His assistants put me at ease and were very professional.Over all a soothing and caring,and highly professional environment.One which i highly reccomend to anyone needing the same care.

Dr. Patterson extracted two of my impacted wisdom teeth, and removed two that had already grown in. The procedure lasted no longer than 25 minutes and I had no facial swelling. The procedure ended up being a breeze.

I had a very negative and poor interaction with Dr. Patterson on the simplest of issues when he was covering for his partner, Dr. Graves. Since the surgery cost over $6k out of pocket one would think the customer service attitude would be much better at this practice. Since they aggressively market implants at their practice, good patient care needs to be delivered as well.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. The whole process from scheduling an appointment to the procedure was swift and more efficient than I expected.
Although my insurance covered most of it, I did have some out-of-pocket expense to pay, but it was less than $200, whereas the estimate for my out-of-pocket expenses was $400-$500 from a different surgeon whom I consulted with earlier. I am using that as the basis for my cost rating, although that was only one other competing estimate, and of course actual costs will vary depending on an individual's insurance coverage.
The facilities are nice, particularly in the waiting room area near the front desk, which includes a flat screen T.V. and a fridge with bottled water.
I did not have to wait long, even though I showed up to my appointments early by about 15 minutes or so. On the day of the procedure, after I finished filling out my forms, I was seen almost immediately. I had two follow-up visits. One would probably have been sufficient, but I was nervous and asked to be seen before my scheduled appointment, and the staff were very accommodating and made time to see me.
I am thankful for the way I was treated and my treatment was a success.
