I was a patient for many years. After a bunch of work was done he did a root canal on a tooth without letting me know. Next check up when I went to go schedule my appointment the lady said I needed another root canal. Dr never said anything about this to me. I questioned the lady I have had no pain with my teeth. Got a 2nd opinion. The other dentist said no issue no cavities at all. 1.5 years later finally saw new dentist. I now have to have all his work redone because he used "soft feeling and they are falling out. HORRIBLE.. It seemed like the longer I went the more problems he found - Please be careful. He did this to my 10 year old as well. Luckily his were baby teeth.

About Hygienist: Loved her hated to switch because she was so awesome! Wish she would work for a good dentist with good ethical values.

The last two appointments I had to wait over an hour after my scheduled appointment time. They come in to numb and then let you sit there so the local will wear off and happily you can now feel the pain.
About Front Desk: Chipper but ignorant
About Hygienist: Dropped the temporary crown at least 5 times on the floor!

Excellent care, excellent service. Dr. Black has taken care of my whole family. All of us would gladly recommend this practice to anyone. It it likely impossible to find better. I used to hate dental visits, but now, it's no big deal. When I have needed a lot of work done (fillings), he manages to pretty much make it pain free. He's also a very nice man.
About Front Desk: Excellent service. Always able to answer questions about and accommodate scheduling and billing problems of which there has been very few. When you walk in, you have their immediate attention.

For years Dr Black & his staff have provided me with caring, efficient, professional service. His manner & skill, and that of his staff, simply inspire confidence. From the dentist to assistant to hygienist, all have been patient, thorough, & respectful of my individual needs.

He let an employee work on me that acted like she did not know what she was doing. At one point she hit my teeth so hard with an instrument that I wondered if she may have cracked my teeth. I told office manager and she seemed unconcerned to me.

I had gone to a handful of dentists in the Tulsa area and was starting to get upset that I would not find a good one. My wife finally picked Dr. Black because he was close to our house and had an opening. I have been to him on several occations now and have been very happy with his work. He is charming and informative, and his staff are always very polite. Their rates are very reasonable (with my insurance at least) and I've never had any problems with them. I would reccomend Dr. Black to anyone looking for an easy-to-work-with Dentist.

Dr. Black performed a root canal and installed a crown, but it later had to be replaced by an endodontist (at Dr. Black's recommendation) I think this can happen quite a bit, and may not be a negative reflection on his work. Dr. Black and his long term staff are friendly and efficient. The hours and location are convenient, and Dr. Black is always very friendly. I like that he makes a point to visit with you, making "chit chat" after checkups. He's a bit sarcastic, but I enjoy that kind of comedy. There does seem to be a lot of turnover with his hygienists, and on occaision, the one you get isn't all that great. For example: The one who assisted him with my root canal left the hook in my mouth pulled tight the entire time, even when he wasn't working. Worse than that: she kept the hook pulled even when she turned around to reach something, thereby pulling even harder. I really thought she was going to pull the side of my face off. I'm pretty sure she's not there anymore.
