I went to this dentist because my husband went to him. Huge mistake. The lady that did my cleaning was great, however; Dr. Harlan himself did my fills and my teeth have never been the same. Now they are extremly sensitive to cold, hot, sugar, etc. It's horrible. Sure I could go back like they want me to fix it. But seriously, that means I would have to take off from work (again) so Dr. Harlan can correct his miscalculation. You going to pay me Dr. Harlan if I go back? Speaking of paying, his accounting department needs work as well. I received a collection letter for overpayment from my insurance company for DOS: 10/06/11 $42.00. This same letter was sent to Dr. Harlan's accounting department twice and to date payment hasn't been received. I also recall that my insurance company paid all but $5.00 on my first visit with Dr. Harlan and his accounting department sent me a request for payment. I paid it and his office apparently didn't document not once after the multiple times they kept sending me collection letters and after many times I returned to sender with a note that the bill has already been paid. Back then postage was $0.43 and i believe i received over 6 letters trying to collect $5.00. WOW!

After recieving a devestating offer in the form of an invoice, from another DDS in Pleastanton , who was trying to use scare tactics, refusing insurance in order to pad his pockets, telling me how much his equipment costs, while I retorted.....do you have any clue the cost of an MRI, not to mention all the other equipment in Radiology? I consulted with my long time Periodontist in San Antonio, also the best in his field......Kent Hamilton, DDS. I then made an appt for a 2nd opinion with Kurt Harlan, DDS, who performed the exact needed dental care, bypassing the over priced, terrifying patient tactics the other dentist in this area showed. Kurt Harlan, DDS,gave me great pain relief, he is very precise and sure with his instruments, making it a shorter time in the chair with an open mouth, which is EXTREMELY important with a patient with TMJ, like me,. His results are EXCELLENT, his staff is on par with the best I have ever had..........he accomodates your wishes instead of foolish demands during treatment. All in all, he is a rising star and deserves this report of his masterfulness of the skill of Dentistry. Kudos, Kurt Harlan, DDS....you are now my GP dentist, and that comes from another professional, an MD. 5/5!!!!
