I am very happy with Dr. Geren and the staff and facilities at Mt. Vernon Dentistry. Dr. Geren is an excellent listener; is patient with questions and happy to make sure you understand your options completely.
State-of-the art “Nomad” x-ray technology has such low radiation that the technician does not even leave the room, which also makes it quicker. He uses a special dental camera so that you can see your teeth in the same detail that he does.
Dr. Geren is respectful of your preferences and does not push any extra procedures. Twice, I have been in with tooth pain that was cured with minimal treatment and very low costs. There is no nickel and dime-ing for extra x-rays or photos, etc. No pushing of “standard” treatments such as gum cleanings or whole mouth x-rays.
When I noticed my old veneers were cracked and worn, we discussed several options and I opted to have them replaced with the less expensive composite veneers. His staff worked with me on generous payment options. During the procedure, Dr. Geren and his hygienist worked well together as a team. His gentle manner, patience and skill made this very long procedure less stressful.
And my new teeth are gorgeous! Art and skill!
About Front Desk: The waiting area is more like a hotel lobby with a coffee bar. A concierge desk greets you as you come in. All the work is done behind the big wood and glass door. The staff are so friendly and they have a 24 hour phone number that goes to Karen's cell phone. She can answer questions or get a hold of Dr. Geren. Easy to read treatment plans, cost estimates and billing. 5% discount for checks or cash!

My family and I have been going to Dr.Gerens office for 23 years and I would drive a hundred miles before even considering another dentist. The staff are all amazing too! They even had a baby shower for me when I heard I was going to adopt my daughter, who has also been a client for 8 years.
All my procedures, from simple extractions to root canals have been performed with expertise, confidence and were virtually painless! They work with their clients and their insurance, they are always ready to answer questions and willing to help with payment plans etc.
I trust them implicitly.
About Hygienist: Jeremy does a wonderful job as do all the Hygenists that have treated my family. I actually look forward to my visits!

No doubt Dr. Geren is a competent, skilled cosmetic dentist. I was impressed with his skilled work on my veneers. Not impressed on his ability to manage my pain in the cosmetic process. Getting veneers with Dr. Geren is the most painful thing I have done in my life. I had to stop him numerous times during the procedure to have him administer more pain relieving medication. Also, make no mistake... he's in the business to make money as fast as possible. He and his staff will put you in a chair and start taking your money as fast as they can with expensive procedures. I would also give his staff low marks. Lots of confusion and delays if you have to call Dr. Geren's office for anything.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Geren for anyone who is fearful of the dentist. I have extreme anxiety and fear and had not been to a dentist in over 20 years. I had extensive work done all at one time and did not feel a thing thanks to sedation dentistry. Dr. Geren's staff were all aware of my fears and everyone treated me with respect, dignity and care! I have my first cleaning in over 25 years and I'm actually looking forward to it! Thanks Dr. Geren. I can actually eat crunchy foods again!!!!!!
