I had the unfortunate opportunity to meet the cranky Dr. Grubbs and to experience his disinterest in helping someone in pain. It is time for him to retire.
About Front Desk: "Receptionist" is too kind a word, really nasty on the phone and in person.
About Hygienist: The hygienist is the worst, after having my teeth cleaned at this office and visiting another dentist two weeks later who was interested in helping me said he never saw such a poor job.

He's a marvelous dentist. I have been seeing him (mostly continuosly) since I was a child. The only times I had to use another dentist were when I was not living in Virginia.
I now have my entire family going to Dr. Grubbs (husband, children.)
Everyone in the office is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Grubbs is very sensitive to ensure that he is thorough and inflicts as little pain as can be managed during procedures. I would recommend him (and have) to anyone.
I have bonding on one of my front teeth necessary after an accident which broke my right front tooth. He has replaced the bonding when each has worn out since I was a child. His work is very exacting, as he is very careful with matching the color and shape of similar teeth in your mouth.
About Hygienist: Hygenist is very nice and thorough. She always gives good recommendations for home.

I only went to Dr Grubbs once for a cleaning and it was average. I did not have cavitites so I only spoke to the Dr for a minute or two. He struke me a lacking personality a bit. Maybe I caught him on an off day. My husband had a dental implant partially installed before we moved so Dr Grubbs completed the work. It was expensive but all implants are so I'm not sure Dr Grubbs was any more expensive than anyone else. My husband also thought he was neither the best dentist he has ever had or the worst. He thought he was good enough.
They do have a nice clean office and the schedule is not as booked as some other offices I have been too. The administrative staff and hygenists seem friendly.

Dr. Grubbs, out of all the dentists that I've had in my life, is friendly and gets the job done without there being a very high price. I would strongly recommend every person that asks me to go to Dr. John T. Grubbs for things such as route canals and all general dentist work!!!!
