I had some cavities filled. They did an awful job filling them. I have to have them refitted and they keep on blowing me off. they say the next time they can fit me in is three weeks from now. All the furniture looks used and everything is so dirty. They take your call and then say they will call you back and never do. This was the worst dentist experience I have ever had. Do not go!

About Hygienist: Dr. Denise Alexander has really big hands and she is not gentle at all. I dont recommend using their practice at all.

I had a veneer done. The first time it fell off was two weeks after the initial bonding. Three years later it fell off again. Had to go to another dentist to have it put on. Given the cost of the procedure, I think it should have lasted longer than three years.

Dr. Alexander took extra time during my visit to help me improve my brushing and flossing technique, then saw me (for free!!) a month later to see if it was helping. It's really important to me to do preventative care, and this was the first dentist to ever take the time to help me in that area. Her associate, Dr. Jacobs, did some fillings for me, and did such a good job with the shots that I didn't even feel them. Finally, their office has water-tools for cleaning plaque, making cleaning a much more pleasant experience (though they will use the old fashioned tools for tough spots!) The dentists do the cleaning (with a hygienist assistant). Overall, I would say that this is a wonderful dentist office. The dentists are friendly, they care about getting you into your appointment on time, and they do a fantastic job. (If you are a UC Berkeley student, they do accept SHIP insurance.)

I just go there for regular cleanings and check-ups, but they are always great. The staff is really nice and the results are always good. Overall a good experience at the dentist (to the extent that a visit to the dentist can be described as a "good experience", of course).

Dr "J" did my dental work.... began ordering the wrong crowns--METAL crowns, before i stopped him and told him I wanted porcelain.... Huge and expensive near faux pas. The assistant began putting the wrong glue on the correct crowns once I got them, nearly ruining them, and Dr J had to snatch them out of her hands and kick her out of the procedure. Was very round-about in answering questions, did not uphold any professional demeanor whatsoever. Have not received any receipt for payments made, stopped receiving bills after second payment. Left several messages, and they have yet to get back to me. Had 3 appts. total, always late to treat me. Wonder who is actually, if anyone, running this place? Will say though, that had a cleaning with Dr. Alexander herself once, and she was patient and compassionate. All in all though, you are kind of on your own in this office.

About Hygienist: The aforementioned hygienist, apparently right out of school, had a very shaky grasp on how to use basic tools (suction, water, etc.) Didn't seem to have ever worked on a crown procedure before. Was asked to leave the operation. If the office is reading this, PLEASE follow-up with any pending billing situations!

I went to this dentist twice. I saw a different dentist each visit. They disagreed on reading the same X-ray. One says I need fillings, one says I don't. They tried selling me on a bunch of expensive elective treatments. In short, I don't trust anything they say and now I'm going to a new dentist to find out what I really need. I would never advise anyone to go to this dentist.

I wish she was still available through my medical benefits, because this is one dentist that knows her stuff. Thank you, ma'am.

Dr. Williams in Denise Alexander's office completed my root canal and filled several cavities to my satisfaction. I'm usually afraid of going to dentists but Dr. Williams put me at ease and always made sure I was not in any pain during procedures. She also did a good job in fillling a rather large cavity where a previous filling had fallen out; now it looks like nothing had ever affected that tooth. The crown she placed is also doing well, though I should say that she was very forceful when doing the root canal and crown placement; I felt like my tooth was going to come out. Otherwise, she is a pretty good dentist.

Not painful at all and my smile is so different, beautiful, can't stop looking in the mirror. Was not cheap but you get what you pay for in a dental do over. Insurance does'nt pay for this beauty stuff.
