Set implant into the nerve. Extremely painful! Went to another dentist who needed to see xrays. Dr newman sent xray with partial in so xray couldnt be read. Was very expensive. He was very rude and didn't listen to me about the pain. I would NEVER recommend him to anyone. 5 yrs later and I have dentures that don't fit and cant find anyone to work on them because it is so complicated. Last oral surgeon said it would be around 50,000 dollars. Another said I would need reconstructive jaw surgery. I am 55 and look 75. I rarely go out in public. Hope to find an attorney who will take my case. This has ruined my life as I new it.

About Front Desk: They made a mistake in scheduling and had to come the next day to have all teeth pulled. Very stressful. The whole experience with this place was and is an ongoing nightmare that is ruining my life!!!!!!!!!

My Experience: Oral Surgery

Duration: 1 hour

I know this doctor: only went for oral surery and implants.

Nice guy and extraction procedure itself was good but billing was very unprofessional.

About Front Desk: Was told the cost upfront after they called our insurance company- not just a quote/estimate- but later was told it would be $50+ more. We asked for a little while to research it with our insurance carrier. In the meantime, they turned it over to collections. I wasn't seeking it out but was glad to know that it was a Christian office, as I am also a Christian. However, sending to collections when they knew we were having to challenge the insurance company was not professional and definitely not Christian...especially for a measly 50 bucks.

Terrible place to go for a surgery. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed; it is now 2 and a half weeks after the surgery, yet I still have a pain in my mouth that is hard to deal with. Every time I call to tell him, he and his office assistants give me the run around about what is causing the pain and treat me like some kind of pain pill seeker. There is a difference between someone who is looking for drugs to get high and someone who is looking for medication to help with pain, but he lumps everyone in to the former group. The last two times he negated everything that I told him, and he acted like he knew my body better than I do. If you are wanting a smooth surgery with a dentist that knows what he is doing and doesn't treat you horribly, then DO NOT go to this place. You will regret it. You can only get your tooth extracted once.

I would not recommend going to Dr. Newman. Something went wrong with one of my implants and I was in a horrific amount of pain. I called the office and was pushed off until days later when the next appointment was available. Once he gets your money he no longer cares about you and your well being.

Implant failure due to poor placement - one at an angle pressing on the root of a tooth and one placed into my sinus cavity. I had to go to another oral surgeon to get one taken out because Newman said the pain would only get worse if he took it out??? The implant had actually integrated into the bone (except where it was sticking into my sinuses) because Dr Newman just let it go for so long despite my many office visits over time! Having an integrated implant removed is no fun and an expense in and of itself - besides the fact I lost all the money I spent on the implant and crown in the first place...I had to pay someone else to take it out and had a lot of pain and time away from work to get it all fixed. Do NOT go to him because he will talk sweet to you and act like he's patient, available, and competent at implant placement, and you will be tempted to believe, but trust me, once you part with your money, you'll see the truth and it isn't pretty.

When I first went to see Dr. Newman, I told him I was very sensitive to pain, and he assured me that he was very understanding and patient. That was a lie! He did an implant, but at a weird angle, which torqued the tooth nextdoor, necessitating me using a tooth straightening device to straighten that nextdoor tooth, to this day! Dr. Newman also lied about the "abutment" being properly seated in the implant. It was never properly seated (discovered by an independent dentist's x-ray), and as a result, the permanent crown with abutment fell out into my hand! Even with my husband present in the room, Dr. Newman yelled at me when I was in pain from inadequate local anesthetic injections. I really feel for that other patient who had even a worse experience than I had. Dr. Newman should pray for his immortal soul, because he is unrepentent, and i believe he is in denial about his very bad shortcomings! I wish I had paid attention to the patient who felt pain from the torquing (torque wrench). That was a warning I should have heeded!!! In the saga of getting an implant and permanent crown, I've met plenty of bad dentists, including Dr. Newman. A much better dentist is Dr. Borg. "Let the buyer beware"!!!

Absolute worst dental extraction experience I have ever heard of. I told them I wanted to be sedated and unconscious for the surgery that would entail drilling through bone in three different places in order to extract all four of my wisdom teeth in one procedure. They gave me sedative through an IV and they did not give me enough, I was wide awake through the entire procedure in excruciating pain beating my hands and feet on the dentist chair screaming that I was awake. Their response to this was to tell me to shut up and that it was my fault I was awake. Throughout the procedure I had severe throbbing pains extending from my head through my toes, this pain has still not subsided and it has been more than eight hours since my surgery. On top of my bad experience at Dr. Newman's, I was treated so rudely and disrespectfully that there is no chance I would ever consider going anywhere near Dr. Newman's office again, so if there are any complications with my procedure, I am forced to simply go to the emergency room. I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy, however I would wish this experience on Dr. Newman and his associates, because they clearly do not care at all about their patients. They just want your money.

I had multiple extractions, then six implants done by Dr. Newman. The only thing I found painful was torquing on one of the implants, but the pain was well-managed by Dr. Newman. His assistants and staff are thoughtful, professional and assuring. Dr. Newman is very caring and I knew I was in good hands. His staff was helpful with my insurance forms, and there were no problems with billing.
