We had two bad experiences with the orthodontist, Dr. Gardner, Yorktown, NY. After being treated by Dr. Gardner, one of our child's smile is "not as wide as it could be," a direct quote from our dentist. Our other child had a tooth turn gray as soon as Gardner put her braces on, because Dr. Gardner “moved it too quickly.” Again, this a direct quote from our dentist. (Can you image the referring dentist criticizing a colleague?) The referring dentist confirmed that it was Dr. Gardner's responsibility/error. Subsequently, we spoke with two other dentists and orthodontists, all of whom a doctor friend referred us to and neither of whom needed our business. All concurred that Dr. Gardner’s work was poor. We approached Dr. Gardner, fully understanding anyone can make a mistake, but Dr. Gardner became belligerent with us. He actually yelled at me, the wife. He would not assume responsibility. Dr. Gardner’s staff is equally mean-spirited and vicious.
We are not litigious people and have never sued, but we believe we should have filed a malpractice suit against Gardner. Our daughter's front tooth is permanently gray; even after two endodontic surgeries attempting to correct it.; an expensive and painful mess
