Had two wisdom teeth removed. Was given novacaine in the office. In the dental chair for 5+ hours. Left the office in severe pain, and am still feeling moderate pain on the lower tooth one week later. Prescribed me 8 pain pills which were gone in two days, and would not call in another prescription because he had "concerns". Yea I am concerned too doc, 5 hours of having my teeth yanked on tends to cause some pretty good pain. Thanks for your personal delivery of hell on earth!
I have told many folks my experience, all of them were in disbelief. Three major points of theirs were:
1) Why did it take 5 hours?
To his credit I did have some concave roots. However, him leaving the room every 30 minutes to go to his personal office darn sure didn't speed things up
2) Why no sedation or pain relief other than novacaine?
Don't know. I guess it was because I drove myself?
3) 8 pain pills?
Had sinus surgery 2 weeks before this procedure and had taken a considerable amount of pain medicine prior to this, which Dr. Robert informed me of. He was concerned of misuse. Had a whole history of medications/dates. If I just wanted pain medicine I don't think tooth extraction would be my first choice to land a prescription.What a joke!!!
