I had an implant placed in 2006 in Dr Errico's office by Dr Amagoni. Dr Errico made the crown.(Front top tooth) The crown soon after started to appear to have a grey hue to it, but all else seemed fine. In 2010, I decided to obtain my records from the office to have a new crown placed by another dentist. I was told after numerous attempts at leaving messages and not getting a return call that my records had been lost. Just this week, I started to have pain in the jawbone area of the implant, I was placed on antibiotics and an xray was taken, then a CT scan. The results of the CT show that the implant post was placed into the bone and right out through the other side, the only thing covering the implant post is my gum tissue. To fix this, i am now looking at: removal of existing crown and implant, two bone grafts, wearing a temporary tooth for about a year as I heal, another implant placed and then another crown made and placed. An implant is supposed to last a lifetime, I paid $4000 for one that lasted 6 years at best, now I have an infection and am looking at a few thousand dollars out of pocket to fix this problem.
