Went in complaining of very basic toothache that had been there for a month. The x-ray supposedly showed not only a tooth that needed pulled, but also six cavities! He also at this point asked whether I had any cash or equity in my home where I could get an equity loan to get veneers, something I had absolutely no interest in as I have almost perfect teeth to begin with. Given Dr. Malouf's interest in my financial position and how much dental work I could afford, I went to another dentist for a second opinion. The second dentist (who had been highly recommended by my family doctor ) said I had absolutely no cavities, but did need the root canal. I look back and have no confidence in what Dr. Malouf said or in him looking out for the best interest of his patients.
