Dr. Barefield is an incredible dentist. my kids love this place, we have been patients since 2007. My only problem is that the rates are too high now. They always bill my insurance out of network (doctor rates-more high ) instead of in-network (insurance rates) even though they are in-network with my insurance. they prefer to send the claims this way because my insurance pays 80% no matter what. I have tried to work this out with the billing department and came up with a solution but they do not want to help me. it's ridiculous having to paid $124.00 out of my pocket for a regular 6months cleaning when my insurance already paid 80% ($257.00) doctors rates for that visit. I understand that I need to pay my co-ins but I don't like to pay so much more just because they like to bill my insurance out of network.

Son has been going to this office for several years. It was easy to get him in and get the expensive treatment that was needed for him (had to have caps on most of his baby teeth). Since he has started to loose the caps and is now loosing teeth I can't BUY AN APPT. It is my understanding that this is a pediatric office and that most kids are in school so whats terribly wrong with accomodating the parents of the school age kids by not having to check them out on a regular basis.. I will be requesting my sons records on our next visit (on a weekday when Dr.Barefield is not there and that was the only appt available) yea, and taking him elsewhere.

About Front Desk: Front desk staff in my opinion is not very customer friendly!

Terrible customer service, one of the rudest staff I've ever met in a pediatric office. I dreaded calling to make appts. Absolutely no breaks given for no insurance, very high priced services. I felt like the doctor staff was condescending.

Ms. Barefield is awesome and always will be. I went to her when I was a child and now I'm taking my son there. The nicest most intelligent dentist I've ever known.

We love Dr. Barefield! My kids have been seeing her since their first appointment. Aside from the playhouse, she also has entertainment options for the kids in the back (for example, a handheld game while waiting the required time between the flouride application and the rinse, and disney movies playing on the ceiling for those long procedures). Plus 'prizes'! My kids love her and when we lost our insurance for a year they were *DISAPPOINTED* that we had to skip a cleaning. Her staff got my son to sit through an xray on only his second visit--amazing for an expert 3-yo wiggleman. She explains everything, takes most insurance (we haven't had one she couldn't take yet) and has even worked with us on payments when more expensive procedures were required--such as the caps on my daughter's two-year molars that suffered enamel damage after a brush with fifth's disease (our insurance at the time only covered 40% for preventive caps on 'baby teeth'). :^))

My son is very nervous about any type of doctor. The child size playhouse built into the wall in her waiting room, complete with stairs and windows to look out at mom or dad left him overjoyed. He had a ball playing and was quite relaxed with the staff when he was called back since he already felt that this doctor understood the importance of play. The appointment went exceptionally well. The staff was caring, gentle and very understanding. They were able to get my son to do just what they needed him to for them to do the exam with little effort. He was nervous but the entire staff helped him feel at ease. (My son usually clamps his mouth shut if you are even able to get him into the chair, therefore this was a welcome change for them to have him be so willing to let them complete his exam.) He still talks about how much he enjoyed the visit and is still telling me about all the important reasons for tooth care!!!
