Dr Friedman is a competent dentist. My complaint is how he treated my daughter, who is now 11. Previously after a procedure to fill cavities she told me he was "mean", telling her not to be such a baby. I didn't think much of it. But it happened again. He did not provide adequate pain control and then tried to shame her. He even told me afterwards that she didn't do well with pain, and tried to blame her. I've leaned that if a dental procedure is overly painful it is usually due to the incompetence of the dentist. You would think a pediatric dentist would understand children's fear and try to calm them--not get angry and try to shame them. For the high prices he charges you think he could do a better job. Perhaps he is burned out (he looks to be on his late 50's). I'm finding a new dentist!

As a practicing orthodontist in Houston I see the work of many pediatric dentists on a daily basis. That is why I sent my kids to Dr. Friedman as his work has consistently been of superior quality. My kids liked him as he's easy to get along with. One of my boys was very apprehensive about dental work and Dr. Friedman just went slow with him and got him used to his office and having tools in his mouth for a couple of appointments before any work was actually done. Nan, his hygienist, has been with him for years and is super with anxious children. I've been referring patients to Dr. Friedman for over 30 years and have never had any complaints.

He is wondeful, very knowledgable, patient and caring with kids! Very nice to parents and wonderful professional too. The only problem with dr. Friedman is the lack of courtesy of his front desk staff and the insurance: he does not accept insurance! he is such a good professional that he may need to review this aspect of his practice!

About Front Desk: Very poor manners, rude and unhelpful and so difficult to work with; after you pay the hundreds... They are more unhelpful than ever! dr. Friedman is so nice to deserve this people in the front desk, it's a shame that the dr's wife is part of these people! What a shame, it's sad! She doesn't think that we, the patients, are the ones that pay for her diamond ring and Rolex and most probably her trips around the world? It is very bad she is not the person to be there!

Dr Friedman does not take insurance, so the out of pocket expenses can stack up easily. That said, he is pretty good and I have been taking my daughter to him for the past 3 years.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Friedman's for 8 years, and this morning, because I was going to have to reschedule an appointment for the 2nd time, Lydia (who makes the appointments) REFUSED to reschedule and told me that I need to find another dentist. My daughter loves Dr. Friedman, and I think he is a great dentist, but if last-minute scheduling conflicts cause one to be "kicked-out" as a patient, then I think the quality of his practice is declining quickly!

My pediatrician recommend him and my 3yo son loves him. Everyone in the office is very pleasant and caring to both the kids and their parents. After they clean the kids teeth, they let them pick 2 gifts for being wonderful patients. They encourage the parents to come in and sit while their kids are having their teeth cleaned. It lessens the childs anxiety. They are the best.

My sons (age 17 & 11) have never minded going to the dentist. I have sent many friends there; so glad our friend told us about them 15 yrs ago. You name it; we've had it done.

I have taken my children to Dr. Friedman since they were 2 years old. He is so wonderful and patient with the children. I have always been very impressed. His staff is very friendly and always answer all my questions. I love that they have pictures of the kids on the walls. My kids love finding their picture and looking for friends too! The office is bright and cheerful and really designed with children in mind.
